Re: Pick the gender of your "partner"

I am straight myself. But I think this is a good idea for those who are not straight. They should be able to be with who they want. But people are saying it will not be appropriate for younger children, so maybe the option could be disabled for under-13's?

I would too, i think she'd be fun. I love having the boyfriends too but a girlfriend would be cool also. Even alternate between girlfriend boyrfirend, girlfriend, boyfriend.

Re: Pick the gender of your "partner"

I asked ages ago as part of an interview about this a year ago, it's not that they don't support or want to do it, it's just atm it is too much work atm because they will have to recode a lot of things although if Miss Bimbo survives hopefully that will b e something they can do for the future.  I have no idea how the baby feature works for VIBs but it is possible they would have to change some coding for that too?
As to how it is inappropriate for children, how so as I would truely love to know. This game isn't meant for young children anymore anyway and I fail to see how her having a b/f is less inappropriate than having a girlfriend.

Re: Pick the gender of your "partner"

I love this idea.  When it's practical to implement, I think Miss Bimbo should do it.

After all, Miss Bimbo takes a relatively clear stance on what they support, though they do it through humorous, ironic means.  I've always interpreted the more ridiculous things - like boob jobs - not as encouraging plastic surgery, but as pointing out the ridiculousness of it.  But there are more straightforward support measures, too, such as the awareness ribbons.  Picking the gender of your partner could be fun.  They can be modeled as counterparts to the men.  For example, the older gentleman could be an older woman.  I'm thinking the female Pete Dirty could be modeled after, say, Courtney Love.  Haha.

Re: Pick the gender of your "partner"

Nice idea. But the "boyfriend" is being "caught" in the club randomly. If they made a opnotion to do like "You found someone! Do You want them to be a boy or a girl?" Then it would be just fine.

Re: Pick the gender of your "partner"

I agree, if the world really accepts gays and lesbians as much as they say they do, then why do they assume we all want boyfriends. I'm bi and personally, if I could pick, I'd choose a girl.

Re: Pick the gender of your "partner"

And I don't se how it would be a problem 'exposing' young children to homsexuality (not that they should be on this game anyway), like it's something obscene and dirty.
A homsexual relationship is just the same as a heterosexual one, they are equal and should be treated the same.
Personaly I think if there had been a disney film about a princess falling in love with her maid or someone, homosexuality wouldnt be seen as so alien when kids grow up. People grow up being taught straight is 'normal'.

Re: Pick the gender of your "partner"

I definitely agree with this idea.

I love the Miss Bimbo game, but as a lesbian myself, the aspect of only having the option to find a boyfriend is a little... jarring, I suppose. I know that it's really not that big of a deal, and I'm hardly going to stop playing because of it, but... it would be nice if it were possible for the Bimbo to have a girlfriend, if she so chooses. All in all, it would make for a more inclusive and progressive game play, and I'm sure a significant number of people, including myself, would really appreciate the move.

Re: Pick the gender of your "partner"

I support the idea, but as I think has been mentioned before, the whole thing is kind of hetero sexist and, well, sexist.  I mean, I'm not a lesbian and I find the idea of having to go mind a boyfriend jarring.  And as has been pointed out, all the bimbos are female to begin with.  If you're VIB, I figure a lot of the point of the boyfriend is to be able to dress up guys at all since there's no other oppurtunity to.  Ideally you'd be bale to pick the gender of your main player AND who you're dating, but I don't know if the site is at a point that could support that, practically speaking.

I also agree that bimboland is not real life and shouldn't have to reflect every aspect of it since we're here to have fun and not make social statements BUT on the other hand if some players want their bimbos to have girlfriends, then why not if that's what will make the game more fun for them?  People enjoy this game for lots of different reasons.  I mean, the "boyfriend" aspect is not one that interests me a lot and in fact often forget "he' exists, but that doesn't make that true for everybody.

The only reason not to as far as I'm concerned is how difficult it would be to implement.
