Hi, I'm from Sarawak, East Malaysia, Borneo we're known as decendant of Kumang, The mother goddess of the Ibans, Kumang had charge of Paradise.
Every year, during the Harvesting Festival, we have a beauty contest called, 'Kumang Gawai' (literally Harvest Festival Beauty Queen).
In the ancient days, it was believed that Kumang possessed the mystical power and it was said that she's the fairest maiden that she had captured the heart of the prince, 'Keling'. Kumang was every man's dream, she's a domestic Goddess too. She can weave the 'Pua Kumbu', to cut the story short she was able to handle the house chores and it is every parents dream that their girls will possess Kumang's good qualities.
if you guys happen to watch Jessica Alba in Sleeping Dictionary, she's absolutely match the gracefulness of a Kumang. Gorgeous!

Well i'm from Northern Ireland bbut i have decided that as we are part of the island of Ireland it should be ok for me to do an Irish Legend.
Although my bimbo is not a man, i have dressed her all in green to remind everyone about the leprechauns that inhabit Ireland.
Taken from Wikipedia
In Irish mythology, a leprechaun (Irish: leipreachán) is a type of male faerie said to inhabit the island of Ireland. They are a class of "faerie folk" associated in Irish mythology and folklore, as with all faeries, with the Tuatha Dé Danann and other quasi-historical peoples said to have inhabited Ireland before the arrival of the Celts.
Leprechauns and other creatures of Irish mythology are often associated with "faerie forts" or "faerie rings" — often the sites of ancient (Celtic or pre-Celtic) earthworks or drumlins.
They usually take the form of old men who enjoy partaking in mischief. Their trade is that of a cobbler or shoemaker. They are said to be very rich, having many treasure crocks buried during war-time.[1] According to legend, if anyone keeps an eye fixed upon one, he cannot escape, but the moment the gaze is withdrawn, he vanishes.

the goddess afrodite from greece mythology
Aphrodite is known as the Greek Goddess (Roman Venus) of love, desire, beauty, fertility, the sea, and vegetation. It is said that when Cronus was castrated by Uranus, and his part was thrown into the sea, Aphrodite was thus born and arose on a large shell, which was then carried to land, thus her name being translated "foam-risen". The sea nymphs dressed her and adorned her with flowers and gold. She now represents Erotic Love as a form of Divine influence, which has resulted in many men becoming capable of falling in love with her. There are many other tales of Aphrodite, as her Roman name is Venus, she is also known as the daughter of Zeus and Dione.
In Homeric legend Aphrodite was forced to marry the ugly god of fire, Hephaestus, with this marriage, she had hoped to reach the freedom she needed instead of being controlled. Aphrodite was very independent and constantly in search for a new lover. One of her more familiar lovers was Ares, the god of war, whom she later married. Aphrodite felt no pain in being deceitful, as she flourished in the fact that she could have anyone and everyone, love and admire her. Aphrodite has had many miscellaneous children as a result of her whimsical affairs, but a few of her more familiar ones are, Eros(god of Love), Rhodos, Herophilus, Hermaphroditus, Priapus, and Aneas. We can remember Aneas as the founder of Rome. Aneas had fled Troy when it was destroyed, accompanied by his son. He traveled far and wide, lived and heard many tales of the past and the future, until he found Rome and claimed it.
Aphrodite's more admired child is Eros.Eros or the Roman Cupid. Eros (Cupid) means desire, for Eros is the god of Love. Just as Aphrodite was married to an ugly god, Hephaestus, she had her son follow in similar footsteps. Eros was in love with Psyche, a beautiful princess. Except Psyche was a mortal, and Aphrodite hated her for her beauty. Aphrodite had Eros persuade Psyche to fall in love with a monster (Eros really), so he hid his identity from her, for she believed him to be hideous. She would only see him at night, as Eros kept her hidden away from all people. One night, Psyche's curiosity got the best of her, and she looked upon Eros by candlelight as he slept. Eros was so enraged by her spying that he left her to wander the world in misery, but he knew that his love for her was too strong. He begged Zeus to change her to an immortal, and they were finally married. We see Eros today as the symbol of love on Valentines day, and other sweetheart moments. Many of the portraiture of Aphrodite is recognizes by the image of Eros by her side, such as Venus, Cupid, Folly and Time by Bronzino.
The most famous legend of Aphrodite, is the beginning of the Trojan War. Aphrodite was among two other goddess, Hera and Athena, who were invited to the wedding of King Peleus and his sea nymph Thetis. Eris the goddess of discord was so outraged that she was not invited, so she threw a golden apple labeled "to the fairest" in the center of the floor. All three goddess knew that they were the fairest, and fought over it. Since Zeus would not choose the fairest, the goddess's looked upon Paris, the Prince of Troy, to make the award. Each goddess offered poor Paris a bribe for them to be the chosen one. Thus the bribe he could not turn down was that of Aphrodite, as she offered him the most beautiful woman in the world, Helen of Troy. Helen however was the wife of the Greek king Menelaus, so Paris's abduction of Helen led to the Trojan War.

I live in Macedonia but our miths and legends aren't that detailed so I'm gonna use the greek mithology:
Persephone is the goddess of the underworld in Greek mythology. She is the daughter of Zeus and Demeter, goddess of the harvest. Persephone was such a beautiful young woman that everyone loved her, even Hades wanted her for himself. One day, when she was collecting flowers on the plain of Enna, the earth suddenly opened and Hades rose up from the gap and abducted her. None but Zeus, and the all-seeing sun, Helios, had noticed it.

for those who need reminding: cinderella, snowwhite and little red riding hood are GERMAN fairytales...
get ideas from your own countrys tales, otherwise the whole point of the contest is somehow missed.
No offense intended. That's not exactly true, those three fairy tales were popularly recounted by the German "Brothers Grimm" but they were also written in an earlier form by the French author "Charles Perrault" The Story of snow white is thought by many scholars to have started in Asia and there is a version of Cinderella and Little Red Riding hood in many part of the world as well.

The leanashe is an ancient Irish mythical monster, a female possession spirit or vampire. Variations of the word include Dearg-Du, and LeansÃdhe.
On the ‘Isle of Man' she is a blood-sucking vampire and in Ireland the muse of poets. It is said that those inspired by her live brilliant, though short, lives.
There are very few adaptations of what she would look like available, but someone at my school did an artistic impression of her for coursework, and apparently she was often barefoot and did not look too much like a vampire, although her beauty was the inspiration and demise of many.

Nyx, the greek goddess of night
Wiki:
In Greek mythology, Nyx (Î Ï Î¾, Nox in Roman translation) was the primordial goddess of the night. A shadowy figure, Night stood at or near the beginning of creation, and was the mother of personified gods such as Sleep and Death. Her appearances in mythology are sparse, but reveal her as a figure of exceptional power, and extreme beauty.

I am from Canada, but am also a vestur-Ãslendingur (western Icelander). That is what people in Iceland call North-Americans of Icelandic decent. So I chose the huldafolk, which means hidden people, and are basically elves. They like to play games and are nice to people who are nice to them and mean to those who are mean to them. So if you lose something, an example being your keys, the huldafolk are playing with you. If you are nice to them, you will find them somewhere obvious, like near the door, but if you are mean, they tossed them somewhere you won't be likely to find them again, like a hay field.
There are 2 well-known huldafolk who live in Canada. Snorri and Snæbjorn are 2 huldafolk that snuck aboard one of the first ships that carried Icelandic settlers to Canada in the late 1800s. They live in the old elementary school's attic in Gimli, Manitoba, Canada. If you ever visit Gimli, you can go and see their attic, which has their elf sized furniture in it. The old elementary school is now Gimli's town hall.

Hello! I'm from Finland, and my bimbo is dressed as Kuutar, the goddess of the moon, from Finnish mythology.
Kuutar in Finnish mythology is the silver counterpart of the golden Päivätär, the goddess of the sun. Together they own the gold and the silver that comes from the rays of the sun and the moon. They sit in the sky and spin gold and silver thread and make beautiful clothes out of it. In the Finnish epic poem called Kalevala, young maidens ask these two goddesses for jewellery and clothes to make themselves more attractive.

I am from Serbia. My Bimbo represents Vila Ravijojla (Nymph Ravijojla). Vila /vi:la/ is a Slavic version of a Nymph. They are described as amazingly beautiful young women with long, golden hair, dressed in long, light dresses and bearing bows and arrows. They live in
unhabitated areas, in mountains, by the water or in the clouds. It is believed they are born from the dew, flowers, when it rains, when the sun shines and when there is a rainbow. They build their castles up in the sky. Vilas are incredibly skillful at mending battle wounds using various weeds. They can also predict future. Vilas hardly forgive an insult and they can kill those who offend them with their arrows or with a mere glance. They are kind only to those who manage to steal their clothes and if someone takes away their wings, they turn into an ordinary girl. There are 15 named Vilas altogether, but Vila Ravijojla is the most famous one.

I am from Canada, and I chose the Native American myth of the White Wolf Woman. The story is of a woman who is saved from her captors by a white wolf who returns her to her tribe, but is killed by her people because they think he has chased her to the village. After the wolf dies, she escapes from her village up to the top of a mountain and transforms into a white wolf. She is able to change form at will, and she is known for guiding lost people back to their homes. Her magic is said to be her freedom.

I'm from the US. My bimbo is representing a mythical creature from a native american legend. She is known as the White Buffalo Woman, Teacher of Peace and Wisdom.
In the legends of the Plains Indians, she came to the medicine lodge wearing a dress of white buckskin, and introduced the pipe ceremony. She taught the people to honor the whole universe when tobacco is placed in the pipe. She gave the sacred pipe she bears in her left hand to the medicine chief, then transformed into a white buffalo and departed.

Poland: Kupała
A goddess and a festival of the same name:
For some neo-pagans, Kupała, also known as Sobótka, is the festival celebrated on the Summer solstice in June. They believe that it was a sacred holy day honoring the two most important elements: Fire and Water. The tradition is to burn fires at the end of the day and bathe in open waters at sunset, singing and dancing around 'pal' till midnight. At midnight, under the pretext of searching for "the flower of the Fern," unmarried men and women run into the forest. Ladies with a crown of flowers on their head (Polish: wianek), a symbol of their unmarried state, go first, singing. Next they are followed by single men. If you find the "flower of the Fern" the wishes of life may be fulfilled. However, nobody found it so far, but they lived happily together. The lucky man would return with a flower ring on his head, with the now engaged lady.
Jan Kochanowski, a Polish poet who happened to participate in the festivities, gives a description of the night in his Pieśń o Sobótce, Jan Kochanowski, Quote: :Gdy słońce Raka zagrzewa, :A słowik więcej nie śpiewa, :Sobótkę, jako czas niesie, :Zapalono w Czarnym Lesie.
The younger girls all, dressed in white, float her flowers (with candles) on the rivers, the sign, somebody may discover and come next year to her to exchange the dray flowers for flourishing wianek of her.
