And he bit me in one of the strangest places, too.
Last Friday night, I was in the kitchen talking to my mom about something and turned around to go into my room, when I suddenly stepped onto Yoshi's paw. He then made a loud yelping noise and while I recoiled to withdraw my foot away from him, he bit down on it and made a cut on the right side of my middle toe. It was incredibly painful and it bled a lot.
My mom cleaned it with hydrogen peroxide right after and put a bandaid over it that had a glob of Neosporin on it.
Last night, I soaked my toe in a tub of warm water that had epsom salt in it and now it isn't as swollen as it had been.
But I'm still concerned about it. I haven't been bitten this severely before and when Yoshi bit my grandma, she had to take antibiotics for it. (But then again, she's 83 and I'm only 16.) The last time he bit me, I was helping him out from behind my dad's nightstand which he somehow managed to get behind during one of his many "senile-old-blind-cat" moments. He had bitten me on the side of my right hand and even today the scar is still visible. But I didn't have to go to the doctor for it.
So what should I do? Should I continue to doctor it with Neosporin and bandaids or should I go see a doctor?

I'd go to the doctor right away, just in case. Cat's mouths are filled with germs and it's possible that you contracted some sort of infection. Seriously, better safe than sorry.
I hope you feel better, btw.

You should at least call your doctor. This happened to my brother and he didn't think it was a big deal....until he ended up in the ICU. Seriously, just call your doctor. They will probably just call in some antibiotics to be safe.

If you are worried at all, definitely go see a doctor.
You shouldn't have more than an infection, as long as your cat has had all of his shots.

Your immune system should be able to fight it off but see a Doctor if it's bothering you.
Btw, Yoshi is SUCH a cute name for a cat.

I agree with DISAYA, at the very least call your doctor.
Like was mentioned before, cat's mouths are filled with germs that are very harmful to us. It's good that it bled out a bit, but if it is swelling, then yeah calling the doctor would be your best option.

Don't worry, the bite and scratch I got the other day from a cat is still healing.
I didn't go to a doctor, but did bleed it out and then wash it. >.> Of course, if it were to turn red and swell, I'd probably see a doctor. >.>

no offence to anyone here but i completly disagree with all of you's. i have been bitten scratched and attacked by numerous cats all of which have never had their injections and live outside. i have never went to the doctor and the most i have ever done for a scratch was when i was tickling my cats belly and he grabbed my wrist and scratched around my wrist leaving to long deep scratches right across my wrist. ive still got the scars and it swoll up and everything but all i did was clean it and put a plaster on it

Thanks for the advice. I will call the doctor and see what they want me to do. In the meantime, I will continue to doctor it like I have been.
And thanks, bimbokuma. My brother thought it would be cool to name our cat after the green dinosaur that Mario rides on in Super Mario Bros. XD
