Like most others have said, your boyfriend sounds like a jerk!
You shouldn't feel bad for damaging the car or hitting a deer.
When I was in driving school, they teach that if a deer jumps in front of your car you have to hit it.
If you didnt hit and slammed on the brakes, there could have been a car behind you that slammed into you, and if you swerved, you may have been going into incoming traffic.
So what if the car was damaged?
Your boyfriend should realize that your life is more valuable than a vehicle!
