we just got a injection for diptheria, tetnus and polio today in school. for the last few days ive been lookiong foward to it as ive never minded injections before. then today about 10minutes before we had to go and get it i started to laug uncontrolably. iwas completely hysterical and it would stop for a few minutes then start again. i mangaed to keep still long eneough to acually have the injection but for about two hours after it i was still laughing. everyone thought i was on drugs or something as i was lauging so much.my arm wrecks now becaus eof the injection event hough it didnt hurt at the time.
what are you like with injections?
love them or hate them?

i think it might have beent he anticipation as we were the last peopel to get ours as we are the last class. so we listeed to everyone else talking about how much it hurt and how if there was an air buble you could die and who had fainted or cryed or screamed

Have you had your BCG (for tuberculosis) yet or is that still to come? i seem to remember that one being the worst, i think it was a bigger needle or something.
i generally prefer injections to blood tests. blood tests they usually have about 5 stabs before they find my vein.

i HATE needles, i am so scared of them! i couldn't even get the courage to get my ears pierced until i was 16, and then i only got them because my sister was a body piercer, so i had her do it. i haven't had shots in a looong time. probably longer than i should. tattoo needles don't bother me though!

we dont get the BCG any more. it was discontinued this year so we are the first year in my school not to get it. i heard it hurt really bad. i think it was because it was a bigger needle. im so glad i dont get it!

i hate injections i'm a right wimp i flinch everytime i feel the needle go in. Its weird really cause when i was a kid i use to love them and i loved watching the needle go in my arm but now im older im scared of them

I'm diabetic so injections dont bother me as I inject insulin 4 times a day, plus prick my fingers for testing. I dont mind them taking my blood either but my veins hide then the blood comes out real slow so it takes ages!
I absolutely HATE having my blood pressure taken though. Its just when the cuff tightens and you think your arm is gonna pop off it freaks me out! So I get really panicky and I think my blood pressure always looks higher than it normally is because of it!

I'm so scared of needles. I have fainted on a few occasions. My heart starts racing and I just feel dreadful if I have to have one.
I'm 31 and I had to give a blood sample a few months back. I was verging on hysteria. I had a nurse holding my hand and I was sobbing whilst the blood was being taken.
I even paid £30 per hour for hynotherapy sessions to try and cure my phobia but to no avail. I just don't know why I'm so scared.

I don't mind them at all. I kinda like watching my blood get drawn, but some of the nurses won't let me watch.
My younger brother is petrified of them and makes people stay with him if he has to get one. I'm surprised he hasn't broken anyone's hand yet from how hard he clenches when he sees a needle

I remember that jab.
Didnt hurt at all at the time then the evening after it your arm goes dead! lol.
I dont mind jabs, you have to have them so you might as well try and control yourself over them.
Howcome people are so scared of them?

It's because it's a vaccination. The reaction of immune system to vaccine probably made it swollen. I had a vaccination a year ago and it didn't hurt when they made the injection, but after several hours that place on my arm had swollen and hurt and I could hardly move that arm. At the evening my whole body had swollen a little and next day it started getting better.

I don't mind them but when I get a tetanus shot it always swells up and gets very sore. Once it got so bad I couldn't lift my arm. Guess I am sensitive to it.

I think it means it's working - that you are still immune from previous shot.

oh is that what that means? Wow, I did not know that!

I think so, but I'm not sure. I'm not a doctor.

I hate getting shots. The last time I had one, I got the cold sweats, started feeling dizzy, started shaking, and had to get a drink of water.

I don't mind needles really.
The only time I ever feel bad is when I donate blood and I always feel a bit dizzy and ill but it saves lives you know!

I'm fine with injections - sometimes get a bit nervous but i'm never too bad.
Had that one done a couple of years ago - I also found I hardly felt it when it was done but about an hour after it really started to ache.
