THE SENILITY PRAYER

Grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked anyway,
the good fortune to run into the ones I do,and the eyesight to tell the difference.

Great prayer...are we still on the topic of favourite songs?  i like so many it's hard to pick just one but the one that has stayed with me since the 60s as a great fav is 'Angel of the morning' by Merilee Rush - I love the lyrics.

Re: [The Oldies]

Bunny here - it's 6.30 am and we are awake - still getting over the 8 hour time change.  The trip back was LONG...3 flights, one of which was very late but we made it home safe and it's very nice to be back home.

The garden is very dry as Australia is still suffering drought, but Teddy says he can revive it.  Took us about a day to open all the mail and deal with the bills etc.  Today is going to be 25 degrees and maybe some rain!!

Re: [The Oldies]

You can throw some of that weather our way the weather has been appalling, raining all the time through our so called summer and heading now into the autumn.

I am racking my brains what we should discuss our topic on: _

Do you believe in horoscopes and what sign are you, this is our topic for the next couple of days.  Should be interesting to find out the deep hidden you?  blebl

Re: [The Oldies]

bunny, glad your back safe and sound!

tywasia and dahly you qualify i'm sure. welcome!

Q. of the day...fave song and why.  i'm with goba i don't think i can choose, but if i were forced to i'll share my #2 fave. bohemian rhapsody by queen. my best friend thru jr. high and high school introduced me to it.  it's the 1st rock song i heard as a teenager. it awakened me to music and all it's nuances. every time i hear it i'm 13 again for just a fleeting moment, walking home from school with my best buddy.

#1 fave., amazing grace.  it makes sense of my world and gives me hope.

Re: [The Oldies]

Hi Gwinn, how you doing how do you like the new name for our Thread?

I am a Queen Fan and was very sad at the loss of Freddie Mercury when he passed on, such a shame he was a talent and a half, there are so many impersonators out there trying to sing and be him, some of them not that bad but will never be his Voice.

I do not really believe in Horoscopes, but speaking with friends on this subject some of them believe and read theirs everyday, it is something that has always had a big question mark with me?

Now throw the Paranormal my way, I am a big fan on this.  Never had any experience as yet happen to me.

My Mother used to tell me stories and told me one that was very much true; when I was about 2 years old we had visited Ireland for the Funeral of her Mother (my Grandmother).  Slept by the side of my mother late at night after the funeral and she told me her Mother had appeared to her at the bottom of the Bed and assured her everything will be Okay and that she would be waiting for her (she was sleeping in her Mothers Room), I do feel in the way this was true she also used to always feel as if she was falling and never could reach the bright light at the end of the Tunnel.  My Mother died when I was 15 and feel she had reached this light and her Mum waiting for her.   sniff

Re: [The Oldies]

http://photo.missbimbo.com/1/45/moy/35585.jpg

Morning Ladies,

Where you all hiding??  Is it me or do you think as I do, that Miss Bimbo Website might be loosing some of their players and maybe some loss of interest in the site?

Some say it could be back to school with the younger ones on the site, maybe it has something to do with the changes?

Anyway, Ladies we mean to go on, subject still with the Horoscopes’ and I have listed this weeks for you (Aw, I am so nice) x

Aries It's time to act, and show that courage you're famous for. Your fighting spirit will be tested, and others look to you to show the way. Mercury reveals the other side of a situation, and that opens up a new path to go down.

Taurus Stay close to your home base this week, and don't spread yourself too thin. If dealing with a chaotic situation, try reining in your focus to what's in your control. Turn away from empty distractions and do what's in your power to build real security.

Gemini What's really going on may be unclear, so let yourself rest in some uncertainty. You may become aware of things that challenge your sense of who you are, and what your purpose is in life. Keep a soft hold on ideas, but watch for obvious serendipity. Trust that you're where you need to be, and will be told where to go.

Cancer Could be an intense week, with the chance to start resolving an old relationship soul wound. If you keep from becoming overwhelmed, you've got valuable insight to share, about an event underway. Stay away from unbalanced, panicky people, and find ways to build up your spiritual courage.

Leo Don't jump to conclusions about a situation, because there's a deeper truth behind the show. Use humour to break up the seriousness whenever you can. Find ways to celebrate life, even in the midst of so much uncertainty.

Virgo Your scrutiny of a situation may be the only rational voice in the room. It balances out extreme reactions, and gets others to ask questions. The weekend's Virgo Moon soothes your nerves, while helping you keep to a balanced schedule.

Libra You're ready to fully embrace a new way of managing your stress. One way is learning to let go of mind-panic about what to do, and waiting for the answer to come. The Mercury retrograde in your sign takes you into a receptive, reflective mode.....and could be a rich time of new insights.

Scorpio The vision you've nurtured in your mind's eye, is about to become reality. Venus in your sign lifts your mood, and makes others more receptive to what you have to say. You're able to take actions that set you on a different track, one that's more in harmony with who you are.

Sagittarius Speak up, share your vision - the world needs your expansive philosophy. A time to keep refining your skills toward mastery, while taking a more public role. You help others adapt to change, and to see life as an adventure.

Capricorn It's a relief to know you don't have to go it alone. This week brings back helpful allies that give your goals a boost. Still your mind, and tune into that deeper awareness of destiny that's being triggered. Enjoy the calm moments, and use them to gain strength for the road ahead.

Aquarius A week to reflect on big ideas that are resurfacing, and whose time has come. Kindred spirits that you haven't heard from in awhile return to pick up where you left off. Building a community of like minds is a most important task right now.

Pisces It's a week of choppy emotional waters, and it's up to you how to manage that. With some discipline, you could create situations or pieces of art that help others make sense of life's turbulence. Doing things each day that take you deep within, to a place of peace, makes a big difference.

Re: [The Oldies]

yes indeed lets go on. the other thread that i frequent is very slow also.  it is an interesting site called freedom speak. the topics are always controversial and to me it is fun. but after the last topic, evolution vs creation some people seemed to be offended and have not been back. they really ridiculed and slammed some young lady for her opinion and i tried to explain that it was exactly that, an opinion, to what everyone is entitled. you do not have to be an expert on a subject to have an opinion on it.

it's 7 20 am columbus ohio usa time. let me tell you what my day holds. in a few moments i'll go upstairs get the pup out of her kennel and walk her, play with her etc just like our bimbo dogs. then i'll go to the hair salon to get the grey out of what was once naturally jet black. then i'll come home and pick up my mum(i like the way you Brits and Aussies call your mothers that so if you don't mind i'll adopt the word) for her hair apt, then mum, the dog and i will all visit the bakery for bread then i'll come home and begin to clean out the garage. intermingled in these events will be laundry and light house cleaning. now doesn't all that sound like a hot flashers morning?

bunny you usually have an exciting life what's up with you?

rubyjo thank you for the extensive horoscope, will check it against my day to see if i need to be concerned about anything.

all of you take care.

Re: [The Oldies]

Hi all - Bunny checking in... hope you are all tip top...I'm in bed right now after a day of going to a yoga class, getting my hair cut and cooking duck for dinner.

I have had a couple of 'experiences' that were a bit otherworldy.... saw a ghost once, heard one another time, had them 'push ' me and have had enough ouia board experience to scare me off ever doing it again..

My sign is Virgo and I think I am quite typical - don't know how hat works though.

While it will be nice when we get some more Hot Flashers here I am enjoying getting to know the ones who are here already.

Hi Gwinn, you do make me laugh, did you pick her up or is your Mum still under the Dryer??  You sound if you are having or had a busy day.

Bun, noted you’re a Virgo The Virgin Ruler: Mercury - symbol of communication in ancient times Mercury was believed to be the messenger of the gods. This planet governs intellect, communication, wit, writing and diplomacy. In a horoscope it shows the way you think and express you.

Re: [The Oldies]

Ladies, I am on Line where are you 'all'

Mind you the site has been down yet again.

Gwinn, let's start up a topic. What shall we discuss, I am having a bit of a whinch (not mentioning a country), taking our power plants here in the UK.  Already posted something off to another forum to back the UK.

Should we talk about Politic or Religion we will have to tread lightly ladies.

Re: [The Oldies]

religion is always my favorite topic. i feel what happens here in this life is almost incosequential if there is a next life. if there is no next life. some people may be happy to think they will live on thru their children and grand children. in a way that's true. but if there is no next life all the joys and accomplishments that your progeny may experience will mean as much to you as what your next door neighbor is dreaming about at night(assuming she does not tell you the next day).

as for politics. i for one am frightened. now is a time we really need good leadership because a week ago monday we had a severe plunge in our stock market. it looks very bad for the usa's economy and the world economy. i've never been well off, so i don't have much to loose, ie stocks bonds investment etc. but those that do are pretty worried here.  i like mccain because he has more life experience and i feel the pressure would not crush him as easily as it may obama. after all mccain survived a brutal experience as a prisoner of war. i believe that helped equip him for handling pressure and has proved his character.  i've cared for may vietnam vets over the year who suffered less and could not cope with civilian life again.

Re: [The Oldies]

Guy's Gwinn has really made some good points here it be nice to go away think a while and reply, as she says this could be a brill thread and it is all YOUR's.

Noticed, the site is so very quite.  Gwinn, and all my dear friends, I will be with you as much as I can, just so busy and will log in from time to time, over a nice glass of wine.

By the way, I really think it would be nice to tell you about one of our Mod's Chris, who has been so busy recently and helping out in an Orphanage over in India, he was saying it was hard work but very rewarding.  I think he deserves a round of applause from all us Ladies and Bimbo’s out there.  I did mention to him I would let it leak, think he will be alright with this. (Fingers crossed)  And I know he will probably drop a line or two on the subject.  ‘WELL DONE CHRIS’ you are one of the World ‘Angels. xx  blebl

blebl Hi Ricki, noticed he had written something, sure you could take a supply of Toilet Paper with you content3  This is where we western people are so spoilt, we do not know the meaning of how to be poor or not have nothing, can you imagine what it would be like. We are so darn lucky and should be thankful.  I am sure those Children would love to have a computer just to play a few games on.
