I have a plan but need your opinion...

A few months back, I had let my younger brother use my bicycle just for his convenience to go to school everyday... Thus I had sacrificed my 'fun weekends' because I don't get to use it often anymore...

But it drives me and my family mad that since he uses my bicycle, something always goes wrong or missing with my bicycle parts, and it bothers me even more that he don't find it wasteful to spend his money to fix the bicycle...

Eventually I got angry because he finds it okay to forget that the bicycle is still mine and I have the right to know whatever he wants to do to it...
Even yesterday when I just tell him simply that he needs to handle it with care and not just drop the bicycle however he wants, he YELLS and claims that it's his money and I don't have to bother telling him what to do... We argued until my mum tells him off and even said that I'm right...

Today morning, I'm so enraged that he had painted it black without telling me... My bicycle is originally red in colour, and he even make some changes that makes it doesn't doesn't look 'Right' anymore...

I decided to teach him a lesson by painting it PINK tomorrow when he's not around... I got to know that he doesn't have enough money to buy anything... I'm doing this to make my bicycle look better again and at the same time to humiliate him when he uses a pink bicycle to go to school... What do you guys think? Okay, or is it wrong? My mum is not against it either...

Thanks... I really do need to know if what I wanted to do is right or wrong... Sometimes it feels bad but I guess I can do it, it's my bicycle anyway... fou rire

Do it! I have younger brothers too and being the eldest child they think they can take advantage of me! Paint it pink and if you can draw flowers and daisies on it too! Or attach them on. Also consider tappels and other girly things on it.

I would definitely say do it! If it were my brother it would have been done by now no questions ask. Your brother needs to learn a serious lesson in respecting other peoples property!

how old is your brother? he cant complain if he can paint YOUR bike then i think you can definately paint YOUR bike too lol tongue

aaaah 14 yr old totally explains it lol my brother was a pain from 12 and still is he is 19 now and totally bad tempered and now my other brother has reached 13 sad lol

Thats why being a girl is easy... Whatever colour my bicycle is no one will think it's weird... But my brother who has high EGO will be so embarrassed to have the bicycle pink in colour... tongue And if he wants to yell again, everyone else will stop him this time since no one says I can't decorate my property... I kinda don't agree... Because if you've given it to him to use it as his, then he has the right to paint it and do whatever he wants... since it's not yours,since you've given it to him...

Thats what I think... If you know what I mean..if you've given it to him only to go to school, then things have gotten bad ever since he does use it for other stuff, and so you've missed the time to tell him wrong.

I didn't give it to him, I just borrow him... In fact, the reason why I couldn't say much to him because everytime he goes to school, I'm in college...

In the first place, he had his own bicycle, but he had lost it because he didn't lock it and someone had stolen it... Thats how I have no choice but to borrow him...

my brother decided to be nice to me for once and lent me some money but he still has his bad days he thinks because hes 19 he knows everything about the world, but boy he hasnt seen anything yet, hes my brother and all but i just wish he would sort himself out he has potential and everything but he too stubborn to listen and he lives at home still but does nothing for my mum it drives me crazy, he doesnt understand that when he gets his own place he will HAVE to do everything for himself smile

Yeh, my brother lives 4 hours away but he wastes all his money on alcohol and go only knows what else and then expects me and my mum to lend him money all the time... he needs to grow up and be responsible

Don't mean this as a personal attack... But if you re-read the original post you will see that she only lent the bike to him, she never said he could have it.

It's my birthday on Sunday and my brothers got me a present and card! You can not imagine how excited I am. They probably spent less than a pound but the fact they spent real life money! My brothers are both in their teens 13 and 16 and up until now have been giving me monopoly cards and the same yahtzy game for my birthday. We dont even have a monopoly game at home!
