I used to defend Wordo as a way to help people expand their vocabularies and own some new words. Most of the words used were not totally foreign if you're a well-read, older person. Evidently too many people were winning the bimbo dollars and attitude points, hence investing less in the game, so they found a way to make it harder to win by using the new foreign and arcane words, which few people will ever add to their vocabularies. I like to think that I'm a reasonably well-read, educated person, but I was totally clueless on my words today. They do exist, but even in http://www.lexic.us/ I had to hunt from one "See: --- " to another 4 times to finally understand what one of the words meant. There were a couple of literary references to works where the word was used... from 1805 and 1812.

honey, most of the words have absloutley no meaning at all.

I got Tallat. I can't even be bothered to look up the meaning of the words anymore.

I posted this yesterday in another other thread titled 'Harder Wordo?'
"I agree wholeheartedly! Before the recent update, I had no problem finding the answer in 4 tries or less. Now I'm getting words like Illupi, Diotas, Roemer, and others I can't even remember.
Is this some kind of new punishment? I'm 38 years old, smart, and I had to use -
http://www.lexic.us/ AND http://sirl.stanford.edu/tools/wordFinder.php
to even *begin* to find some of my words! My normal sites are incapable of helping now, as those words don't even appear there.
And this is supposed to be a 'kiddy' game? Show me one child who can find those words in 4 tries or less...
All this for a bonus of $10 BD. Hardly seems worth the effort anymore, and it's certainly less fun to play. For me, anyway.
And before anybody mentions it - I know, I always have the option NOT to play..."
Hope this helps a little!

Totally agree - I actually enjoy seeing if I can get the word, and now I get things like tonight's:
NEINEI
HUMECT
Yes, they may be more of a challenge, but so would trying to pick a random number between 1 and 100. No skill, no intelligence, just pure dumb luck. Whoopee.
This game makes me want to BMEFLG someone.
Just imagine if we actually started using these words in the forum. We could probably say some really bad things, and nobody would know what the heck we're saying!
Just a thought.

Oo. I *just* got this.
Everytime I look for anything explaining that work, I get suggestions that i meant "unicae" which is an equally odd word. Wth?!
Also: feague? Unneccessary! Where is the game pulling these words from? the same place you feague a horse?

I'd love to Slairg some poo on whoever decided they should use these words in Wordo!
http://www.lexic.us/definition-of/slairg
It's a bit Smurry here at the moment!
http://www.lexic.us/definition-of/smurry
Hey, we CAN use these words in a sentence
Offline
I knew I recognised Slurry!
It's usually used by Bob Johnson when he's presenting the weather in winter xD
Offline
Chalk another 2 up to wordo, today I was beaten with SYRTES and SMOOGE
WTHeck!
Tip: write down the first letter and then hit back space, you can get Y in with your vowels.

Smurry=drizzly....lol!
I thought it was a word for a furry smurf!

i havent won at wordo since the update and i used to always get it on 2 or 3 attempts - tops. i dont understand french at all but i have better luck playing over there because at least you can use google translate after you figure out some of the letters. this is beyond ridiculous.
agiler? ditted? (really difficult when the word doesnt exist *and* uses the letter more than once just saying) dowlas? minger?? c'mon.. how hard is it to fix the database? so over the glitches here.. why are there so many here and *none* at the other site that shall not be named? hmmm...

They are words, just extremely hard to find since most of them are never used on a daily basis.

Ah ha - we're back to the Urban Dictionary or Wiktionary again, aren't we?
And for such an
offensive and vulgar
word
http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/Minger
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=minger
C'mon indeed.
Gentlemen -
If you genuinely want to torment us for a scrimpy sum of BD and BA, that's your prerogative. Just agnize that I will do all I can to triumph!
Yes, I said agnize. Look it up.

I'm so much better with the french wordo than the english - and I don't speak french. There are so strange words in this game that I have never heard before.
Offline

Ok ladies, Wordo words I got today -
http://www.lexic.us/definition-of/cafard
Cafard took me 10 minutes to find.
One I *almost* got, but I shut the browser down because it was already past 4 tries. I need the BA and BD, so I'd rather start over with another word.
The word was LATHEE.
http://www.lexic.us/definition-of/lathee
The last one took 9 minutes.
http://www.lexic.us/definition-of/kamees
Now let's use them in a sentence!
This game gives me cafard.
I'd like to use a lathee on whoever's putting these insane words in Wordo, but I'd probably bloody their kamees.
A+
Get'em ladies, it can be done! Beat them at their own game!

Not found in English Webster's dictionary....
somewhere out of the way it says "one who opts"
Where did all these nonsensical words come from?? This seems to have happened after someone posted a hint to use a scrabble solver website to help with wordo words. SHEESH!
Offline

Because wordo was rude, I will be rude.
I got Merkin yesterday.
For those of you not in the know, a Merkin is a pubic wig.
Please explain that to the poor 10 year old bimbo googling her bizarre wordo words
(and for great entertainment, when I did it, the first two google images were of a bunch of bright pink feathers and a big manly-looking wig, both on naked bodies. Hookay....)

I have 2 "good" ones from the last couple days.
SQUIRR (would this be a squirrel with no tail?)
OOIDAL (huh
)
Offline

Offline

Today's "words"
Below you will find example usage of this term as found in modern and/or classical literature:
1. The Tragedy of Hamlet: Prince of Denmark by William Shakespeare (1917)
"Sleeping within mine orchard, My custom always in the afternoon, 60 Upon my secure hour thy uncle stole, With juice of cursed hebona in a vial, ..."
Guess I need to brush up on my Shakespeare

Not really sure on this one...there's a few different definitions.
Meh
Fix Wordo already, please!
