Do u like that kind of contests ?
Personally I really like to predict which girls will make the cut, and during MUniverse i'm good in it, but when I hear about any male pageant such like Mahunt I am sick
Also I think that is completly misundestood to organise that kind events for girl under 16, all those small queens, miss teenage new brunschwick are just kinda weird.
So what is ur opinion ?

Forget weird, pageants for girls under 16 is just plain disgusting and shallow.
Totally agree. You see six year olds caked in makeup at these things.

See.... I did pageants from when i was seven until a couple of years ago, im 22 now. My friend did them, and i went to one with her at 7 and begged my parents to do them. They finally gave in, and i loved them.
I think its the way you and your family goes in to them, i used to love spending so much time with my mother, and I LOVE to preform, and it gave me an outlet to preform, and it was fun to plan outfits and meet new friends. I never did sports, so this was kinda my thing... I won like 25% of what i did, so it was never about winning, and i think the pageant system taught me a lot about myself.
I ran in a state competition for the Miss America system, and i didnt place at all, but i realized i had been pressured by a lot of people to do things that were not me in the pageant, although i am not going to do it again, i know i should of listened to myself (and my mother more) and i would of done better, i trust myself and my gut a lot more about things now
.. anyways, just my experience, and i didnt have a stage mom, which helped!

to MEC. (I'm really asking this because I'm curious, I'm not trying to insult you)
Do you think pageants for young girls have changed since you've competed? Where you also so incredibly made up that you nearly looked like a full grown woman and not a young girl. And do you think the young girls are being given a to sexy image when they compete.
I hope I didn't come over as rude with these questions because I genuinely just want to know your opinion.
(now I will put a smiley here to show how friendly I really am)

Hey... no its totally fine. I am totally fine answering any ones questions!!!
Well... i think some pageants are very different than others. I grew up in the north east, but pageants in the south are much more intense! So i can see a more grown up look, and Jon Benit (is that how you spell it) really showed a neg. side to them.
In every pageant there are girls that try to be grown up and those who look age appropriate. I always looked age appropriate (i couldn't wear makeup till 12 at all, and even then it was very little). If we did a pageant were the girls that won were "too grown up" we wouldnt do the pageant again, but most of the ones i did they awarded them to the most personal, age appropriate girl, which was nice.
Even in the Miss America system, there are girls who do it for the right reasons, and really are classy, well put together educated women, and then there are those who do it for other reasons.

obviously in beauty pageants are taking part inteligent girls, they're well educated but I mean here about Miss World, Universe, Earth and International competition. I was watching document about small miss pageants across the USA and I think it's cruell cause most of the mums looked completly ugly and it seems like they tried to realise their dreams about being beauty queen or something. Also i think that looks funny when child or even preteen is dressed like 30 year old woman or even older. I think it's stealing the childhood, competetivness in so early age especially on image level is something undescribeable stupid to me. I think that good age to start participing in those kind of contest is 17 or maybe 16, never less...
btw. the world of beauty pageants is dominated by gays, and sometimes they're choosing the masculine girls to compete, the best example of it is Miss World 2005 pageant, where more than 40 girls were very masculine to me, u know - jaw like brad pitt, no waist etc.
What do you think about Miss Universe, cause it's more common there in the USA than MW, for me is the most prestigious contest right now, most dynamic, but I don't like one thing - even if Miss USA collapse she still places very well
and also do not like those predictability of this event - last year I hit 13 out of 15, two years ago 17 out of 20, this year I just missed one girl - Hungary.

There is a very good thread about kid beauty pageants going on in the Grown Up's Lounge

If all child pageant contestants were like MEC, I would have no problem with them. It's interesting to hear her perspective. But if it's the mom who is pushing the girl to be in them, I think that's wrong.
As the adult pageants go, I have absolutely no problem with those. I have a friend (who sadly moved away!) who is REALLY into them and would have Miss America parties! Each person at the party randomly drew a state so you had someone to root for! And he would have little prizes for the winner including a tiara, some roses, a toy car, some Barbie make-up, a little plastic suitcase (luggage!) and other stuff like that... Toy versions of what Miss America wins! It was always a lot of fun!
