Re: brett favre

Okay so I am not a guy, but I do have an opinion. I love Favre and I would love to see him come back, but I don't think I would want him playing for another team. I also think it was very wise of him to retire at the top of his career and not wait until he started to suck.  Just my opinion sourire

Re: brett favre

haha dont worry about your sex in the forums, nobody cares. but yes i agree he must come back. i think its a bigger soap opera than this forum. i cant believe that fox cut away from normal programming to show a breaking news report and it was favre tlaking. i was watching espn and the analysts were discussing it and they genuinely got pissed. it was the first time ive ever heard a white guy play the race card

Re: brett favre

I didn't see it, but I can believe fox cut in on regular programming. After all other than politics, sports are the most important thing in our media smile  I really wish I had watched it though, how did he use the race card? Dang I miss everything fou rire

Re: brett favre

I think he made his bed, now he has to lay in it. I'm not taking anything away from him being a great fabulous player. He has done this act several years to the Packer, is he coming back is he not. He has a contract with the Packers for a couple more years!

How can he complain that they won't release him when he has contract with them! The Packers certainly will take him back but he'll be the 2nd string. Which is quite fair. They brought the new quaterback in a few years ago in the first round of the draft, knowing Farve would not be there forever. The new quaterback hasn't even played a single snap.

Farve should've kept his mouth shut until he really knew. He does this every year now, and I think he's soiling his reputation.

He should not be released, he either should go back to the Packers or be quite in Mississippi.

Long live the Raiders.

I am not trying to start dramazzz, but why are you telling people not to post if they don't know who he is when you just asked who he was  less than 10 minutes after creating this thread?

there is no reason brett favre should ever be a second stringer, its like sitting michael jordan, you just dont do that to somebody with his history. also the new quarterback, aaron rodgers, has played more htan a single snap. he played most of the game against the cowboys last year and the year before that he came in in the fourth quarter and broke his leg and was out for the season. and the reason hes asking to be released is a bluff, he just doesnt want to ride the bench

mercy-the caucasian guy said that the african american guy was attacking favre because he is the "great white quarterback" african americans have accused causasian analysts of being too hard on african american quarterbacks when they either play like crap or force dogs to fight each other so this is a bit of a jab back

Honestly what is the point in holding him to his contract? They have must have the upmost confidence in Rodgers or they wouldn't offer Favre second string. I understand he is on contract and they need to do what is best for their team, but humanity also has to play some part in the decision. After giving someone 15-16 years of your life why hold them back? People make mistakes and it seems to me the Packers are just punishing Favre for his.

Re: brett favre

mercy-favre and thompson have never gotton along. also, one theory that has come up is that thompson wants the credit for building his own team, if they won with favre it would be because hes brett favre and not because ted created an awesome team

Re: brett favre

Here's the thing, I only have a few minutes before going back to lunch.
Lets say you own a business and your workers says hey I think I'm going to retire. And you say jeez I really want you to stay your awesome. And the employee says well, no I'm done, so you hire a replacement. That's right you hire someone now to do the job, because the other person said he didn't want to work any more.

Now what do you do? How can you run a business that is at the mercy of it's employees? Do you say to the new guy, eh sorry mate, your out. But maybe next year you'll be in? Eventually Farve will be done, and then they will be screwed because they won't have a quarterback. Haven't we gone thru this for the last several years!

Sorry about the mis-information about Rodgers, when my husband comes home he can tell me more about it. I don't really care about the possible racist crap. I am looking at Favres behavior.

oh no the only reason i mentioned the race card is to illustrate how much this issue is stirring up emotions. i can see your point about the business thing but i think a team is a little bit different. rodgers has not proven himself and favre has the best chance of carrying the team and everybody knows that. the packers have a great team now and proved they are capable of winning the superbowl so why rebuild when you are already built.

It's not different, football is a business and the teams want to make money. And if your whole company is dependant on one person, than what kind of company are you running.
The Packers have sold out every home game for a long time before Favre, and are going to after Favre. What else is there going out there, it's cold.

Why would you hold him to a contract, why wouldn't would you? You sign a contract that makes it legal binding, that's why it's called a contract.

Re: brett favre

No one is saying Favre can't play. He's just not going to start. Who in the right mind wants to play against him? Favre said that the Packers don't want him to play, that's incorrect, they just want him as the backup.

Re: brett favre

are you suggesting that the packers are a better team without favre and sales will either not be affected without him or go up? do you know how many favre jerseys have been sold over the years. i get a new one every year
