Kinda off topic but I feel that some of the horror movie covers at  the video store are totally gross, scary and I would rather children see boobies then somebody in bondage and bleeding

agreed there. the naked form is more appropriate than sexualised violence, torture and rape of women, the sexual objectification is degrading enough. im sure they wont understand it as well as the objectification but it all sinks in on some level. desensitises, normalises, dehumanises.

I THINK IT IS NORMAL BECAUSE I SEE IT ALL THE TIME. I WOULD RATHER IT NOT BE THIS WAY THOUGH. I MEAN IF A STORE IS GOING TO SELL BOTH KIDS AND ADULT MAGS THEN THEY SHOULDN'T EVEN BE NEAR EACH OTHER.

I agree, where I'm at they actually HAVE to keep these things separate. As well as have all porn and M rated content behind silly little black covers so all you can see is the title or top 1 1/2" of the DVD box. But I've seen in other states that things like this are perfectly normal. I'm all for everyone's personal sexual freedoms through magazines and videos but as a parent it kinda disturbs me because I'm not really ready to explain to my kids why someone is doing/looking the way they are.

That is absolutely disgusting.  Regardless if there were children magazines there or not, most people do not want to be exposed to that.  I myself am not too conservative about many things, but porn is one of them.  Not that I think my beliefs should be placed onto others, but those things should NOT be out for everyone to see.

this stuff is more and more mainstream. women's magazines are all about how women should be and so are men's. lol i think its bad to have kids confronted with it all the time. or myself actually.

im not against porn. people know porn is porn. what i am against is how its becoming more and more normal. the stuff in playboy is actually a lot less graphic than nuts and zoo, and those are "lifestyle" apparantly. apart from the effects of porn on some of th workers i think the most dangerous thing is the normalising because in a lifestyle magazine every example of a woman is a sex object or a nagging annoying thing. its the same on adverts. women are all either models, mums or "the missus" and the blokes are all beer swilling footy-watching slobs that can't think for themselves. its funny apparently. im not saying theres something wrong with these ads or mags, or games for that matter. its the sheer quantity being shoved in our faces every day.

theres a lot of backlash atm. sexual crime is up, theres a lot of right wing "back-to-the-kitchen" sympathisers for the poor white middle-class man with no rights anymore... look at the BNP! under 6% rape conviction, more money given to animal charities than womens shelters, and apparently in all this porn is meant to empower us because we then have power over men. dont want power over them. just equal rights. ive been on too many feminist sites recently haha rant over.

I agree, im not against porn existing, but i dont think it should be so "in your face". modesty can be sexy too, people forget that sad

and i dont think that shop was normal, most shops ive been in are not like that

Re: a little bit inappropriate?

You may want to call the local authorities and find out what the laws are.  Complain to the management.  They want your money, they do not want to tick off their customers. If that does not work, let the management know that you are taking your business elsewhere, and do not go back to that place again.  Rally some neighborhood support on this.  Unfortunately, nothing speaks quite as loud to a business than the all-mighty dollar, and if this situation does affect their bottom line, they will surely correct the problem or suffer the loss of business if enough people boycott (if it comes to that).

I don't know where you are from, it could be the all-mighty euro, or other form of currency.  You get the point (I hope).
