I would never have this dilemma since I don't own any ugly dresses. 
As long as I can get into it without worrying about ripping, I'll wear the beautiful one. However, someone brought up a good point about it possibly being itchy. If it was itchy, that would drive me nuts. So then I'd go with the ugly dress, but dress it up with a sweater, belt, and various other accessories.

Definately the uncomfortable dress. The better you look, the better you feel, even if the dress starts to cut off circulation. ^__^ jk
