So I'm 21 now and 2 years away from ending medical school and I noticed most of my classmates are changing styles and dressing more mature!
I need to change my style!
I think I dress too much in casual and pink shades. I'm always in jeans, surf-brands t-shirts and converse on my feet... I don't want to lose comfort and my individuality. I also hate high heels no matter how much my girl classmates wear those. I can wear a bit of makeup, no problem with that.
So I'm asking for some tips on changing my rather "teenage" style into something more mature but still fun. I love retro stuff if worn the right way so I already started to look for some shirts that will look good.
Will you please help me?

It's be easier if we knew your measurements. Different styles of clothing look different on different body types.

Go with cute flats instead of high heels and comfortable slacks. That's my normal dressy wear. Just try to throw some of your style in there too. It's nice to still have a part of your true self, ya know?

I'm bout 114lbs for 5'6'' and I have a small rear and small boobs, and a defined waist, although thin I'm well-proportioned (hip/shoulder are in the same level).

I'm bored, so... This is just my opinion towards a mature look. Thin figures tend to look pretty good in fitted, straight-seemed suits of light-weight fabrics. Feminine blazers (long or cropped), Staight leg and wide leg pants (as well as the more casual gaucho pants) are pretty and fun. Experiment with mixing and matching more professional shades (choosing light pinks instead of hot pinks, etc). I'm not sure what to tell you about hair, but try for something easy to manage in fun (if you're seeking a medical career). Ask your friends, they should be able to give the best advice on that sort of thing. A change in hair style can really make a difference! For light skin, use lighter make up: pinks, sky blues, white, silver. For tan skin, use neutral shades, browns, and copper/bronze. lol sorry, went all out there. XD

You can't go wrong with a fitted button-up and bootcut jeans in a dark wash. And in my opinion, cute flats > heels anyday.

Go with a darker wash for your jeans, it always makes you look nicer and slimmer too. There are some styles that just look more grown up, like wide or straight legged trousers, pointed toe heels, trenches. I wouldn't say you have to lay off the pink to look grown-up, but stay away from light pink, and only have one item of clothing on at a time that's pink. Also, clothes that look more tailored look better - instead of a straight shirt one with darts under the bust, and other seaming that fits your body shape make you look more put together.
But have fun! Because you're still young and cool, you shouldn't have to make yourself look frumpy or boring just to look more mature!
