Looks matter, but not in the fashion I think most people imagine. Looks are not the first thing that turns me on in a woman (not gonna lie though, it helps) but its more how you use your looks and rock what you have that gets my attention smile

I guess it all depends. Me personally... I weigh... um.. 90 pounds, So I tend to be attracted more towards skinnier women. But I had a friend I went to college with that was attracted towards bigger women. I also tend to be attracted towards... nerdy/artsy girls while a lot of other men are more into the pretty popular girls.

But sadly, yes, looks do matter. A high majority of people are shallow. Which I would include myself. I mean I've been attracted to some pretty well... non-pleasing to the eye girls because they had wonderful personalities, but I couldn't see myself dating someone horribly ugly even if they had a great personality.

That is so rude. I may not be a big girl but I'm definately not rail thin either and I take offense to your comment! Being big doesnt mean that they have to settle for whatever they can get!!! Big girls can be just as beautiful and intellegent as as slim girl! Big girls can perform just as good and in some cases better than a slim girl can! it's not that I don't think they have a right to be choosey- what I said was that we are ALL the same. did you notice the quotation marks over the word 'fat'? I was MOCKING the idea of big girls not being attractive. But, YOUR ignorance is excused. sorry to cause offence, but I believe this whole topic to be fairly offensive.

I have been thin all my life, was like 120 lbs when 18 years old am I am up to 130 lbs now with my shoes on lol but in great heath. I like my size too.

I found out in college that overweight ladies are picky, that surprise me cause I thought the same thing at first, they be easy since they must not get asked out as often. But just look around in like a grocery store-food mart--many women who have a wedding ring aren't thin.

Checkout the nerd vs jock thread in the girls lounge, I always thought the jocks win hands down ???

I'm sorry, but I just think it's so shallow to label someone as "ugly" or "pretty". I'm not saying personality is the only thing that matters, but when you meet someone that's right for you, you do not love them because they are beautiful. They are beautiful because you love them.

If only the "pretty" people were allowed to have partners, there would be a lot of lonely people in the world.

I suspect there is a fair amount of people more interested in Lust then love. So shallow details are of a higher importance then. People have difference requirments depending on their own goals.

Looks do matter, but remeber not everyone likes the same looks. Some people like Angelina, some like Jenifer Aniston, some like Beth Ditto.

I'm fairly thin, with a decent bust, but i know men who cant stand the idea of being with someone as thin as me.
And i know curvey girls who have men throwing themselves at them.
At the end of the day its who you are as a person that matters, and no matter what you look like someone is going to think your beautiful and someone else is going to think your hidious. So just be happy as youself.

As a plus-sized girl, I get the fun of stereotyping. In high school, when a guy liked me, my friends expected me to settle for him. Nevermind his sense of humor was so different that he never made me laugh, and his intelligence was questionable. He was "kinda cute and he likes you" which was, in their minds, the best I was gonna get.
Once overweight girls get into college, the variety of guys available really changes, luckily. I'm dating an absolutely swell guy, with a few (male) friends on the side hoping that we'll break up so they can comfort me. XD
The funny thing is guys do judge appearance, too, but they judge it so differently from girls. Females expected me to settle for less because I'm ugly in their minds. Yet, there are several guys who get pissed at me when I make it clear that I don't consider myself attractive.
