It's very sad. I heard this on the news this morning. What a brilliant comedian. He will be missed...R.I.P.

I saw that this morning. I was just watching him on Inside the Actor's Studio and sobbing like a baby; he was so groundbreaking and amazingly hilarious. Let me just demonstrate what my face looks like today: ;__________;

I wonder how many other people are going to have marathons this weekend involving HBO specials, Bill and Ted, and copious amounts of beer? Lots, I hope. It seems fitting.

Thomas the Train
Not his greatest performance, but always made me smile to see him on a children's show and wonder exactly which of the 7 words were going through his mind.

I loved him in Dogma. Classic.

when I was 16 i worked at Carl's Jr. in California. he came in and orderer breakfast. while I was taking his order I said you look familiar. All he said was "really?" When I was finished taking his order I said "You Look like George Carlin, are you sure your not him? " He said no, took his number and sat down at a table. When his order was ready I took it to his table and as I set the order down he pointed to a napkin that he had autographed for me and put his fingers to his lips as if to shush me. I was busting with glee. I still have that napkin in a picture album today!!

Napalm and Silly Putty - my favorite book of all time, it is highlighted for easy reference. I go to Carlin whenever the world pisses me off, and he makes it better! My husband called me to tell me this morning, he didn't want me to hear about it from the news ... I am going to open my bottle of wine and watch my videos. So sad

He was great in both Dogma and Jay and Silent bob strike back. And he , almost , made Jersey girl tolerable. The fact that he won't be at the Kennedy center to receive the Mark Twain award is really a shame.
Bambi the sad

I was suprised he died. I had just read he'd had some operation but was feeling good and ready to get to work.

Who's GEORGE CARLIN? Any pics?

You don't know George Carlin!? You have to watch the seven words that you can't say on tv, its the funniest thing. He was a great comedian. And I drank this morning. Its very depressing.
Are we allowed to talk about alcohol? If not, I will gladly delete that part.

Some of my best childhood memories were of watching the HBO specials with my dad. I had to break the news to him as soon as I heard
I love George and we will all miss him.
