I couldn't agree more - the internet is the perfect place for weird people to make contacts... And you NEVER know who is on the other side of the line, even if that 13yo girl from London is oh-so-nice and trustworthy - she IS NOT, as long as she doesn't sit next to you in class!

i wouldnt tell them anything, you could say you live in whatever country, or maybe even state, and your first name, but if the person also asks personal things, dont answer back! i had someone ask me a lot of weird questions like my birth date and height, and one of the creepier questions was what was my bra size! i was freaked out and reported them. it wasnt on miss bimbo, though. it was on runescape.com
This is why I tell everyone I live in Vostok/East Camp Antarctica...Most people actually believe me too lol

there is no excuse for that, wanting that kind of info. i post on a message board, and one woman gave me her phone # and address!i didn't ask for it. i'm a woman, but how does she know i'm not a man and/or a pervert/criminal.
and a girl gave me her #, the name of the little town she lives in. that is so ignorant. i called her and said be careful, i could be a dangerous person.

I think it's difficult nowdays, because the Internet is a medium of communication that is quite recent, and it's evolved into something quite sophisticated and has a whole etiquette system to it that not everyone would be familiar with.
The problem is two-fold, we definitely can't ignore the fact that there are a lot of people out there who might be paedophilic freaks. On the other hand, there may just be people who are genuinely trying to be friendly but similar to some people in everyday life, lack the social graces to get to know people properly.
I think it's more important to educate minors about safety issues.
I go by some simple rules.
1. Always use a nickname, or an online moniker. Never give out last names.
2. Never give out addresses. I think giving the town you live in is okay, as long as it's not a really small town with a population of, oh, say, 500. If you live in a small town like that, give the name of the nearest major city.
3. Never give out personal emails, or phone numbers.
4. Never be afraid of saying no: No, I'm not comfortable telling you these things/No, I don't want to meet up with you.
5. NEVER meet up with a stranger. If you really want to, make sure you tell a parent or an adult first, and NEVER meet up alone. Always check with an adult.
6. NEVER give personal pictures.
I think if anyone's trying to be friendly or make friends online, they'll understand the concern about privacy and personal information.

Did you hear about that girl that was kidnapped after meeting someone from myspace?
Well, now they think her uncle may have done it, but I still worry about those kinds of things.
On a popular social website (I already mentioned its name), a kid can list where they live (country, state, and town), what school they attend, and their picture FOR PUBLIC VIEWING!!! With information like that, a creep could literally follow them right to their desk at school!
I am so glad you turned them in! With all the bad press Miss Bimbo has already received, we don't need a missing kid (god forbid) to end the site! Thanks

Good that you reported that person. I hate it when people ask me where i live and if I want to chat about innapropriate stuff

That is one thing I have never ever done is give out alot of details... name yes date of birth town where you works times etc NO WAY. Even my bebo profile is private.. u can never be too careful these days

I really thought that stuff like this was already common internet knowledge?
Or am I just crazy?

Wow thats smart to report! I am kinda well...
New here and i all ready knew that!

I think people get on message boards and get too comfortable with the people they chat with. I worked with a lady who was stalked and attacked by a WOMAN she chatted with online. She was hospitalized due to internal injuries. It was kind of a shock.

Profile says your 31 years old so I doubt this was a pedophile. Seriously people keep saying beware of those older males who want to talk to little kids, but that's not the only danger on the internet(as seen in post above). Caution should be exercised no matter who you are and no matter who the person in question is.

I agree that under age girls shouldn't show cleavage but as for myself I like to show cleveage because I'm proud of my breasts - they are my favourite body parts. I don't have low self-esteem and I'm definitely not slutty. I have self-respect.
In addition to that - we don't have to talk to someone if we don't want to so what we wear has very little to do with our safety. (just my opinion)cleavage was just an example... I've seen a lot more than that on other sites. Also I feel it's not just the "cleavage" but the Way it or other body parts can be flaunted ... what worries me is that I see it flaunted in more slutty ways from the Minors, who are yet to understand the implications of their choices ... and I've heard more than a few cry "why me?" when they've found themselves in situations unsafe and beyond their control.
I don't believe anyone has the right to abuse another, and I'm strong on the "no means NO!" ... unfortunatly there are many preditors who don't share the community values that are in place to protect us all ... and they are the ones who see cause by how girls/women dress and other pathetic excuises as good reason to be abusive ...
sometimes fashion ... amongst other things can if we like it or not lead to unwanted attention as well as the wanted imo
they wouldnt see the outfit as an excuse. theyd do it to anybody, however the courts will tear the victim apart and blame them and bring up their sex lives and choices and the conviction rate is low. you know you will get away with it. yeah its a good idea for people who make those choices t be more responsible, but she shouldnt have to be. i wouldnt want minors going around thinking will i be raped if i go there/do this/wear that? because you never know, its mainly by people you know and they dont care. to take responsibility it would be better to learn self-defense but it isnt a womans responsibility to stop herself being raped more than a mans responsibility to not get mugged or stabbed.
yes it might encourage paedophiles, but if someones actually a child abuser then they dont need encouragement. if they do then they will just find someone else.
as for details and blockage, well done. specific details arent safe to give out

I also worry about my 7 year old playing games online for the very same reason. So to help put myself a little more at ease she & I made an event out of printing up some on-line rules and frameing them to hang by the computer so that even if she's not reading them on a daily basis at least she knows that they are there and has them in the back of her mind.

we are striving to make this site a safe place for bimbos of all ages, but we unfortunately can't be in all threads at the same time .cooperation in reporting via p.m. disturbing or strange posts to me or other moderators will assist us in stopping a potentially serious problem in its tracks.this of course is not reflective of posts in the body section where posts can be graphic but not indicative of a creep on th loose.

Forgive my male intrusion, but I've perhaps got a few interesting points, as I do a fair bit of work on preventing 'unwanted' behaviour on the internet and I wanted to stick my nose in and give a male viewpoint on how to help prevent unpleasant situations.
I admin a difference site, and it's a very close-knit community and the age of regular community members ranges from 11 to 60. We're exceptionally harsh on creeps, and on people giving out information... for example, one kid was sending out inappropriate messages including personal information at random, and one of my co-admins rang their school (found through an IP-search) and they sorted it out. We've had the usual guys being a bit too creepy towards younger girls, and even younger girls lying about their age to try to get older guys to meet them. Guys pretending to be girls, girls pretending to be guys.
I'm a 25 year old guy and have been using the internet for 9 years - no one I know on the internet has my surname. 2 people have my address. I don't put pictures online in any public area, and I don't even give my MSN name to anyone unless I have a reasonable idea of who they are. And I don't really feel that I need to take care - I just do it because everyone should.
It'd be unrealisitic to say 'never talk to anyone, ever' - but my golden piece of advice would be ALWAYS keep correspondence on the website you met them on, until you're absolutely sure they're who they say they are, and aren't a creep. I'd assume MissBimbo staff can access in-game messages if necessary and take appropriate action - taking stuff to MSN etc removes that extra safety net. Whereas if you keep it in-game, you can report it to a staff member immediately if you're not happy with what they're saying, whereas on MSN not everyone would know what to do. An early MSN request should usually be regarded as a red-flag anyway, but that's beside the point.
People doing that on the game I admin has let us deal with things and pass information on very effectively (we've got no problems bringing the police or whoever in) - so yeah, never go to any external messaging system unless you're totally confident with who they are.
Hope that might be useful to someone

I have just joined MissBimbo and I am an adult male.I joined because I enjoy fashion and designing.I have been a member of the Dollwar site for over a year and have chatted with minors and made alot of friends. One friend their told me about this site;on here she is Lyla. This young lady is like a daughter to me which I show respect and dignity towards. There are kind adults in this world both males and females who are mentors for children, the sad part is that there are also people who do not care for the welfare of children.Yes,children have to be safe and protected.Parents have to teach children about boundaries to give them an idea of who could be a safe adult:teachers;coaches;camp guides;clergy. They have to be instructed when someone is violating the boundaries and to tell someone. To teach children that all adult strangers are harmful is a wrong concept;they have to learn how to live and interact in an adult world, because they are growing up in one and becoming an adult too.If anyone has questions for me feel free to ask.

OMG! I used to play that game!! Sometimes still log in..they made it all weird though
I got a stalker off that game, he lived in another country and started telling me he had feelings for me and then got cut when I told him I started dating a guy in real life.. He wasn't so much come to my house stalker, but he did follow everything I did through myspace and then once I realised he'd made a fake profile pretending to be someone I knew I deleted it and he started harassing me through emails and made websites etc..
Was quite freaky.. But I also had a lot of good experiences off that game too
I did the complete opposite of all the big game rules, I met up with a guy off there in real life and he is now one of my closest friends.. That was at least 2 years ago..
Point of the story is, there's the good, the bad and the ugly on the internet. Some people are creeps but restricting under 18s pms isn't fair. I chat with a girl on here who is totally sweet and listens to me when I've had a bad day when I cant talk to anyone in real life, she doesn't ask personal details only the occasional "so how are you and your boy going?" stuff like that..
Removing the ability to connect with other people in the bimbo community is going to make younger players stop playing. Sure we dont know it all and we do stupid mistakes but the same things can happen even without the internet.
I'm off for dinner.. might edit this later

I agree, people do blow the whole thing out of perspective. Most people online are not creeps. However, I do realise that there are creeps who are ruining it for us.
But, it is usually very easy to figure out who is a creep, they are always really stupid and they don't try to hide what they are at all.
Also, it always amazes me that people will just post their number out to anybody. I have only done that to two guys who I had known for a long time before, and had enough proof that I knew who they were.
But please, don't presume everyone is evil, if that had been the status quo, Id have never got my bf who I love very much
(not from this site tho lol)

I think its common knowledge that you dont tell a creepy stranger where you live and what not. Some girls get a sort of validation by being wanted online.. I dunno

Ooh, that's creepy. I'm glad you reported it. I've never had people ask me those sorts of things on Miss Bimbo, I would have to correspond with someone extensively to tell them and even then it might not be a good idea (especially if you're underage). It's sad - most people are decent and want to treat others well, but a few dangerous folks are still out there.
