Adults encouraging innapropriate behaviour here

This is not the profile I'm speaking of, as I'm also "bimbo sitting" for my Sister a short time until her computer is fixed ...

What bothered me is yesterday her profile received an email here asking her directly if she were from a certain town ... to top it off this person asking is claiming to be 37 years old!!!

YES I reported it!!  I can't believe an Adult would even ask such a thing, even when it's not in the rules of a game (Though in every game I've played online it is!!)

PLEASE PLEASE remember all you younger people to not share personal details with anyone online, it may seem innocent enough at the start but you truely never know the danger it may find you in!!

all things can happen... don't play it loose! it's really very dangerous! what happens if a particular person happens to follow you home after watching you online and live!?? that has happened before. and please... dont put up too many details on any internet site, even facebook!

this person claims to be female ... and perhaps is?  but how are we to know it's not a 43yr old pedephile hoping to find a minor who's claiming to be older than they are irl for what ever reason

I agree with the others also, keeping other profiles on sites like myspace and facebook are all good & I feel it can never be stressed enough to keep profiles private, be careful who you add and NEVER use cleavage shots etc ... just cause you "got it" doesn't mean you have to flaunt it ... and lets be honest, like it or not it only encourages seedy attention, cause everyone else is turned off by it & just consider you to have little self esteem or are slutty!

Self respect is the best way to not only keep better company, but it will protect you also!!

Can I extend this to all ages. It may seem like something that just effects younger users but my 28 year old friend found themselves in a lot of problems when they give out similar details to someone online. Not all of them want children some of them just want what ever age they can get.

Re: Adults encouraging innapropriate behaviour here

I agree that under age girls shouldn't show cleavage but as for myself I like to show cleveage because I'm proud of my breasts - they are my favourite body parts. I don't have low self-esteem and I'm definitely not slutty. I have self-respect.

In addition to that - we don't have to talk to someone if we don't want to so what we wear has very little to do with our safety. (just my opinion)

cleavage was just an example... I've seen a lot more than that on other sites.  Also I feel it's not just the "cleavage" but the Way it or other body parts can be flaunted ... what worries me is that I see it flaunted in more slutty ways from the Minors, who are yet to understand the implications of their choices ... and I've heard more than a few cry "why me?" when they've found themselves in situations unsafe and beyond their control.

I don't believe anyone has the right to abuse another, and I'm strong on the "no means NO!" ... unfortunatly there are many preditors who don't share the community values that are in place to protect us all ... and they are the ones who see cause by how girls/women dress and other pathetic excuises as good reason to be abusive ...

sometimes fashion ... amongst other things can if we like it or not lead to unwanted attention as well as the wanted imo

Re: Adults encouraging innapropriate behaviour here

Personally my cleavage is for my husbands eyes only. I am well over 18 but still don't think it's a good idea to be showing it off in avatars. For one, I don't want to protray myself in that way. Secondly, I know that young girls learn by example and if they see us oldies showing off our bodies then it follows they want to be seen as mature and will follow suit.

Re: Adults encouraging innapropriate behaviour here

Maybe as an aid to kind of prevent stuff from happening to the younger crowd...Disable private messages to/from them...Personally if I had a child...I wouldn't really want them interacting with people online...If they wanted to talk to their friends...They can go to their house or call them on the phone...

There's only so much parents can do to monitor their child's interactions online...And speaking for myself...When I was a kid ( pre-teen ) online...I could've gotten myself in a lot of trouble and my mum never knew...

I know disabling private messages isn't a fix-all but it's a step...

Re: Adults encouraging innapropriate behaviour here

It's not just the younger ones that need to watch out though, fair enough there is probably more of a chance of them giving out their information, but it's just as easy for someone of any age to do something like that and not think much of it.

Great job on reporting it though big_smile

Re: Adults encouraging innapropriate behaviour here

Understandably it's everyone that can be at risk...But adults are adults...And have the right to give out information and make those kinds of choices whereas kids do not and moreso should not...But not all kids are safe and smart about being online...

Re: Adults encouraging innapropriate behaviour here

i wouldnt tell them anything, you could say you live in whatever country, or maybe even state, and your first name, but if the person also asks personal things, dont answer back! i had someone ask me a lot of weird questions like my birth date and height, and one of the creepier questions was what was my bra size! i was freaked out and reported them. it wasnt on miss bimbo, though. it was on runescape.com
