One says that beer quickens the appetite. In my country you are allowed to drink beer since of the age of 16..so you may try. But you could 1st try a malt beer (no alcohol). That should do the same.

And I don't think, that alcohol makes one fat per se. If you drink until you have to puke, then you won't get fat... ;-) (please, don't take the last two sentences too serious..)

there is a big drinking culture here. more so in northern Australia where im originally from but its not that bad.
