I had my ears pierced when I was 4, and then a second time at 6, but the second holes rejected. I had my bellybutton done a few years ago, first it got infected, then it started to reject, and then, just when it got settled, I lost the top of the bar whilst at my grandaparents didn't have a spare and it had healed too much by the time I got home 3 days later. I want a nose piercing though, and maybe a discreet tattoo (can't have a visible one, I want to be a university lecturer and I think it may be frowned upon.

i'm all for piercings and tattoos so long as they're discrete and not going to get you into any trouble! i mean, ears pierced is fine but say you want to become a lawyer when you grow up - is a lip piercing really going to be appropriate?! it's the same with tattoos, you need to think really hard about what you're getting and where you're getting it and whether you'll still love it ina few years time!
seeing as i have my navel pierced and a tattoo on my hip i'd be a hypocrite to tell you not to do it but (please don't take this the wrong way!) you're still very very young and your body still has plenty of growing to do so you'd be better waiting a few years til your growing slows and you can getting done knowing it might not backfire a bit later on!

I have my Monroe pierced & I love it!! It didn't hurt AT ALL. I barely felt it.
It looks great! I've had it for about a week now. Never taking it out. (:
