Tongue piercings can ruin your teef.
I have a hole behind my lower teeth where my second tongue bar has rubbed.
But my dentist hasn't told me to take it out, just to be more conscious of it.

Yeaa ive heard of that.. also aparantly it is the peircing that hurts the less!?
Is that true?

I had a lip ring for a couple of years and had problems with my lower teeth because the ring kept on hitting them!
Offline

lol. No.
It depends on the person.
I haaave.
Labret, monroe, nostril, cartilage, industrial, two tongue, lobes, and I've retired my eyebrow. Or, it retired itself when it ripped out on my fuzzy pillow.
They all hurt almost equally.
Why I keep doing it, I have no idea.
The eyebrow is generally the least painful.
In my experience, the industrial was the most painful.
It really just depends on your body's tolerance to pain.
I can tolerate quite a bit, just apparently not on my face.

yea ive also heard that.. when i get mine ill prob have a clear plastic bar most the time... itll still slowly damage maybe but not as uch as metal bars..
Offline

No.
It all damages.
My monroe has receded the gum over one tooth.
I've used bioplast, rubber back, fish tails, metal. All of it.
Still did it.
You just have to wear proper fitting jewelry and hope for the best.

Mhm true.. alt of peircings, awesome.. is industrial the middle part of the indside ear.. my mum is thinking of getting that soon and im like OUCH but she says shes heard it doesnt hurt! PFT

The little flap over the hole into your ear is the tragus.
A piercing on the bump in the curve of your ear are snugs.
The inside shell around the hole into your ear is the conch.
The outside shell is the cartilage.
And industrial/scaffolding go across the top of the ear, one side of the cup to the other.

well, i just think that you should think about it for a year and then if you still want it get it. But make sure it looks good! I mean not to be rude but you should ask friends too because if it looks bad well...
There's this girl at my school who just got her lip pierced and it looks terrible! She obviously thinks she looks good but EVERYONE i have talked to about it said it looked bad too :S
Good luck!

I'm getting my tongue pierced when the time is right (Need a couple of weeks when i dont have to speak at all haha). Its supposed to be the fastest healing piercing, so that sounds good to me

FuttnetwalkerOffline

Yeaa, ive heard from some ppl the tounge heals quick but then some some people ive heard theres a chance u can loose taste bud senses and it swells and can take forever to heal so im like WAH
Offline
Naahhh, the swelling arent supposed to stay for more then a week. After that it goes down and you have to downsize the piercing. Only once heard about a person that lost their taste, and that was during the healing. Since its a muscle it doesnt take that long to heal as all the other stuff, so forever to heal isnt really accurate

Oh sweet.. yea it is something ill like to get in the future. Ofcause, i didnt real meen FOREVER! lol
Offline
I wouldnt get it before I've turned 18 though. Im almost 21 and getting it soon
Dont be in a rush. And use a plastic ball on the piercing.

FuttnetwalkerOffline

oh yea im in no rush, for tounge peircings lol.
jsut something id probly look into in the future

You can't lose your taste buds. lol
That's cute.
You can rub a nerve though.
I don't know if I'm weird for having done this, but when I was little I'd take sewing thread and rub it taught over my tongue.
That's what it feels like to rub a nerve.
My second bar does that.
Makes it hard to stick my tongue out.

haha well thats wot i got told u can loose taste buds!
FEW. for a second i was like nooo i still want to taste : [
hehe

hey, my advice on the lip ring is wait until you have a job, then check with your boss to make sure that facial piercings are ok, it would suck to not be able to get a job because you are being judged on the metal in your face.
Offline

and as a side note, plastic can hold more bacteria than metal, just make sure you do some research, last thing you can't is an infected lip

Aristes look....in real life I have 17 but my sister registered me on this site so she wrote that I have 14 years...it"s not my fault...I get tatoo when I was 16... I truly knew what I want and I did it... just you to know I didn"t and I won"t regret for that...
Offline

Yea thats another thing
wich is why im not getting my lip yet, only because mums sed no because of alll theese reasons. but i am getting my belly because if it gets infected i can simply take it out let it scar and its not on my FACE!
lol

What i was talking about is that when you get a tonguepiercing you rather want a plastic ball on it, since you are probably not used to having it in there. The first time youll probably hit the teeth with the piercing a couple of times and instead of chipping them, you can use a plastic ball.

Dude.
Iwonasomethingnotscrollinguptolook.
I don't even know what you just said.
Your grammar is horrible and I don't feel like deciphering it.
Not my fault you're 14.
kekek.
Also.
I use bioplast tongue rings.
The only draw back is certain colors aren't embedded in the plastic, so it wears off.
My blue ring is now clear/yellow.
But otherwise, it's perfectly safe!
Many piercers are now turning to bioplast for people with metal allergies.
