Re: Girl Guides/Girl Scouts

I was in Brownies, Girl Guides and Pathfinders, but had to stop when our troop leader moved out of town and they couldn't find a replacement. sad

Re: Girl Guides/Girl Scouts

I was a Rainbow then a Brownie for a while, then I did Cubs and I was the first of 3 girls in our Scout group.
I did love scouts in my time but our origonal leader left and it went downhill from there.
He was a complete legend and we did loads of great stuff! smile

Re: Girl Guides/Girl Scouts

i was in girl scouts for 7 years and i had so much fun! i'm way too old to be in it any more, haha. i have thought about being a co-leader or something but i don't think that they would trust a girl with pink hair, tattoos, and piercings with their children, i might corrupt them, you know

I was a brownie I didn't know they had brownies in the US or any other country for that matter.

they teach you IN brownies about how they have brownies (and all the other kinds of scouts) all over the world!

I was in beavers when I was 6-7 but then I moved house and the local beavers and brownies didn't have a place for me. I was on the waiting list for the rest of my life and I never got to join. I was so sad because I always wanted to do that kind of thing! I had the books they publish and I used to read them over and over and imagine I was a scout or a guide or whatever...and some of my friends went and were always talking about it and had loads of friends from it....sad

Re: Girl Guides/Girl Scouts

I was a member of Girls Brigade which is basically a form of the Girl Guides but it had more of a religious aspect to it and more needlework and crafts.  I was a Girls Brigader for three years.  First year i loved it, second year i hated it and thrid year i dropped out at the end.  I was picked on by the leaders because they didn't approve of my religion.  The minister of their church and the minister of my church had a disagreement about carparks.  So they picked on me since.  I couldn't be bothered with it and dropped out.  Looking back now i wished i'd stayed on a bit longer.
