Just curious how you've gotten your birds to change habits.
I have an untame exhibition budgie who won't use his exercise perches. He has one dowel to satisfy his shuffling needs, a rope perch, and two eucalyptus branches, but he'll only use the dowel.
And I'm trying to get him on a staple diet of pellets, but he picks the seed out.
When I bought him, he was on a fatty seed diet since he was weaned. I put him on a half seed/half pellet diet and he only eats the pellets if I clear the seed hulls out and leave pellets. I want him to eat fruit, but he just perches on it to eat the seeds. lul.
Any ideas? ;>

Just curious - Do you like having your "habits" changed?
I feed 3 wild kookaburras everyday - wild not "tamed"
The Mum, Dad and the offspring and this has been the third season.
They trust me and I let them do their own thing.
Like the Kookaburra, a Budgie is an Australian Native & if the Budgie is a male (blue sear over the nose), he will not "change".
Eucalypt branches are not a budgies fave & fruit also falls under that bracket.
Wild fruited seed are.
Make sure your budgie can fly and walk around for at least an hour a day - keeping in mind that their flight path (migratory) is extensive, and if you don't let them exercise their wings they will develop a very fine powder on their wings that can inhibit lung function.
