I guess I'm straight as of now because I currently have a boyfriend, but before him I had a few girlfriends and was mostly with girls. I guess I'm bisexual, but I don't know how that works onces your in a straight relationship.

I am bi.
I am happy and proud for all of you that are out and proud!! My sister is a lesbian and I know that it is sometimes tough!

Bisexual, but in men, I like feminine facial features. But nothing beats breasts.
Kinsey scale 4. Look it up.

I just recently came out to my friends and family and it was so much more liberating then I ever could have imagined. I think I may be bisexual or totally gay, sometimes I wonder if I really do like men or if its just something that was always a part of my life growing up so its difficult to let go of... I'm not sure how common this is.

By the way, THANK YOU to everyone for being respectful in this thread. In this crazy world, some cruel people could have posted some ugly things. (I deleted one by someone who was banned anyway, but besides her, you all have been WONDERFUL!)

Yeah! My sister and her girlfriend are planning a trip out there to get married!
Also, I read an email today about a couple, both in their 80's, that are finally able to get married in San Francisco after 55 years together! It brought tears to my eyes.
I am so happy ya'll are finally getting the rights you deserve!! Hopefully, Texas will follow one day!

aaahhhh what's with all the labelling of sexuality?
I'm doing a course in sexuality at university at the moment. Terms like homosexual and bisexual are only there to otherise and differentiate everyone from what is 'normal' i.e. heterosexuality.
I prefer Kinsey's model of sexuality as a continuum: where 1 is only males, and 6 is only females.

I would say I am bisexual. You couldn't tear me away from the strip clubs when I was in college. I also had a couple of relationships with girls although it never got beyond heavy petting. Used to drive my dad crazy. He is really religious but we have a good open relationship and he would always love me no matter what. I do have to admit he was really happy when I got married to a guy though. My husband knows how I am and is okay with it. He says he likes girls too so why shouldn't I.

The only problem with that is that as soon as you leave the state, the marriage is like it doesn't exist. Also, even if you're married in california, there are so many limitations that straight couples have rights to. For example, if my wife were in a tragic car accident, and her family wanted to pull the plug on her, I couldn't do anything about it.

They know that, but it is still important for them to feel like they have a legal marriage somewhere. Someone recognizes it and that matters to them. Like I said, I hope Texas will recognize gay marriages someday, because everyone deserves to be able to marry who they love.
I didn't know that married gay couples still had limitations. That is so wrong! Marriage rights should be the same for all couples! I just don't get it, why is it such a problem for some people.

Well, we don't have the right to pull the plug either, but we'll gain a lot of other rights. So it's a good thing!

College is when (most) people are truly figuring out who they are. It's the first time away from home, so they might be more willing to try things they couldn't when living with mom and dad.

A lot of people face this problem. I also live where it's more like, "Ok, you can be gay. Just don't tell anybody, and try to act straight when you're in public." You'll always find somebody who will accept you for who you are.
Coming out is scary sometimes, but you should test the waters. For example, talk to your sister about something like the legalization of same-sex marriage in California or make up an imaginary gay friend. Find out her opinions on the subject, and if she seems pretty cool about it, consider coming out to her. It's best to start with your closest people. However, if you think there's a danger of your parents kicking you out or cutting you off, I wouldn't tell them until you are in a completely financially secure possition.
