Problem with Challenge

She probably had a bad day.  I am sure her mood has virtually nothing to do with you.  You were just the person who stumbled along at the wrong time.

That said, do you honestly consider the Birthday Dress fashionable or stylish?  To me it has only one thing going for it, cost.

But until the challenges are fixed to be based on fashion and style, it is cost that counts, not fashion or style.  So you won fair and square.

You should not take her outburst personally.  You played by the rules. 

She may feel embarrassed about it already. 

She has stopped PMing you (you are on her blacklist).  She is trying to let it drop.  You should let it drop.

Even though it seems she was aware of the situation...this is why I do not like stake challanges, it si too easy for someone to change and "cheat" you!

I am not in anyway saying that you cheated just that other people do do that!

It seems the you can change clothes.
The outfit is checked when the last of the two accepts the challenge.
So if you challenge someone else it is valid when she accepts. You can't change clothes any more.

If you get challenged you can change clothes and then accept the challenge and are judged by what you are wearing while you click "Accept".

I would not call that cheating. The game allows for it and so it can be used. However I agree it would make more sense if the outfit both are wearing while the challenge is first proposed are "frozzen" for the challenge. At least thats what I expected before I found out differently.

From a programmers point of view I have to say it is easier to implement the way it is.


However they did choose the easiest way a bit too often for my taste. There are quite a few security issues on the site and the potential to cheat is pressent in a lot of places. It just looks nice and by some miracle it even works, but not because its good programming that much is certain. (This is my personal oppinion. If any programmers of that site read this please see it as a challenge to improve the site and not as a negative critic.)


As for fixing judging challenges based on fashion sense thats not going to happen.

One reason is money. If you could make a winning outfit with cheap clothes (as would be possible in R/L) you would be less likely to buy Bimbo Dollars. Since that is the only way (or at least the main way) for the company running MissBimbo to make money with an otherwise free game they would be dumb if they changed those rules.

Another and probabaly even greater reason is again a programming issue.

This is a relativly simple game. I uses a data base and a two script languages.
What ever you do will initiate a data base look up, a few calculations with the retrieved values and then it generates an output.

To represent fashion sense with such a system would create a HUUUUUUUGE database and it would take ages to do a look up and process the result.

There are 15 cathegories of clothes with an avergage of at least 50 items in each.
In other words you can create about 50^15 = 30 517 578 125 000 000 000 000 000 outfits with them.
One way to represent the real fashion value of the the outfit is to have one value for each outfit but in by a human. A year has 31536000 s - so if that person would take only 1 second to jusge each outfit and put the value in the database (which no mortal human could) it would only take 967 706 054 192 034 500,25 years.
If all 6 billion people did nothing else but judge those outfits it would already be done in 161 284 342,3 years.
Now the the question remains how to define fashion sense. I'm pretty sure there is not one outfit where every one would agree on the same fashion value.

An other way of representing this a matrix that has a value for any two items how well they fit together. But thats already 700 x 700 = 490000 pairs. However two items may not look to well together but still look great if part of a more complex outfit.

So all similar ways to solve the prob will just grow to fast. Thats part of the reality of theoretical computer science. There are tons of problems that either can't be colculated at all or not in a time frame thats usefull.

One way would be a artificial neronal network but thats again would huge and would need to learn what looks good. We are talking about something thats difficoult for us humans with our highly complex neuronal networks - our brains.

So I'm sorry to say this but in this feature has been programmed nearly as good as you can do with a resonable afford.

Hey Mellons, I agree with your calculations and deciding on the winer like that is impossible! However, what is possible is making another game where you would judge random 2 bimbos that somewhere have a challenge. The challenge is done when n (n could be 3, 5, 9.... not too big, and an odd number) votes are cast, or when a person is leading by more than a half of the number votes pending. Your motivation would be a some small amount of bd, ba or iq per vote cast. It's more complex than what they're using to judge now, but it's worth it, and I do think that they might consider an upgrade like that some time in the future. It is, after all less complex than  making an artificial neuronal network...

I do not have any bimbo dollars - but i still cannot do free challenges???? can you please explain this.
I felt bad because I wanted to take on the challenges so I gave the bimbos credits instead. So I sent them a mail explaining what happened and told them i sent them some bimbo points - is this also not permitted????

Please explain.

I'm not having any trouble registering an outfit with only one piece. I saved one several weeks ago and was still able to select it a few minutes ago. And I was able to save a brand new one just now with just one piece. ???
