Mrah.
My living room is 96.
What doesn't get me is that in hot places, it's common practice not to have an AC in your house.
The Netherlands gets quite hot, AC is rather expensive there.
And I live in Texas, in the middle of a desert, and AC is far beyond anybody's mind.
Not to mention to insert central air is about $11,000.
But I lived in Alaska and Kentucky, where a triple digit summer was unlikely, and we had AC. lol

I personally couldn't stand the heat without an AC, i put in a new central unit last spring and it set me back almost $5000.

I'm a wuss. I need a/c. I turn it on when we get to 70 degrees. <.< LOL I'm that big a wuss. But then again my apartment gets hot easy.

I don't Know what the conversion rate is but here in Australia in Summer it averages about 38 degrees celcius. I think a majority of homes have a/c or fans. Some of us are lucky enough to get a sea breeze in the afternoon.

do you live in a really old house?
i cant image anything being built pretty much since the 60s/70s? not having central heat and air.
but i guess maybe ive just never paid attention.

House was built innn.. 1954
But you would think from all the renovations they did over the years, they would've invested in AC instead of a carpeted bathroom and strange office. (It had a dentist's chair bolted to the floor when we moved in. Weird.)

whoa. thats like skeery movie serial killer weird!! lolol.
and yes, thats an old house! guess you best get on craigs list and look for a window unit or like 100 fans!

Heather I was going to say the same thing.
Anyone ever see the movie The Dentist?!

I have fans and window units, but it's so expensive to run and my room is gigantic. I have an 8.000 BTU unit and it takes two hours to cool. And when I have both of my closets open, it takes twice as long.
Boo, high energy costs.

Yeah. I'm also from Texas, and last summer our air-conditioning went out. It was hell. D;
Back when I lived in southern California as a small child, houses regularly came equipped with fireplaces. But when we moved to Nevada, where it snows in winter, those brought the value of a house up immensely. D; I don't get why necessities are costly, but accessories are not.

Iono. It's weird.
Things that would generally be important, like a fireplace or AC, cost just as much as the price change on your house, or less!
I could spend $5,000 for a fireplace tomorrow and only get a $500 price add to my house.
Word has it, my house is worth $80,000 now.
I wouldn't even give my spit to pay for it again. lol We over paid last year at $30,000.

In the city where i live, it is extremely rare to have an AC. I'd say about 2% of the people here have it. It gets hot too.
I actually find it quite amusing that people think its really cold up here in Canada. Yet, the temperature difference between Aristes house and mine is only 8 degrees. The sun has been down for a few hours now too.
