A Hot Mess?

We all know the people who layer on miss-matched clothes to make HORRID outfits in order to win challenges. But I'm wondering if I'm thinking some outfits are like this when they're really not hmm
Like, what if the person genuinely likes the look of a leather jacket on the birthday dress? (extreme example, I know XD)
Cause when I look at my bimbo at least, I like her outfit, but I can see how people would think I'm just packing it on.

So what do you regard as a 'hot mess' over just an extremely layered/out there outfit?

I guess it depends if there's some kind of order in the chaos. Clothes must match somehow...
BTW I like your outfit exept hat.

Rinty I love your outfit - but I am with Eldan on the hat.
There are people who will just toss on anything, but then there are people likke us that take the time to look as good as we can with what we have. smile

Re: A Hot Mess?

It's pretty obvious when someone is just layering for challenges.  With most outfits, you can see rhyme or reason even if it's not to your personal taste.  I will even concede that some bimbos wearing the full birthday outfit genuinely like it.  But when you can check off the most expensive items at Nine's on a bimbo and there's no match anywhere, then they're a hot mess.  The other big tipoff there is that they're accompanied by a 1000 BD challenge and they were wearing something cheaper until you force their profile to refresh.

I agree with Eldan. There has to be general flow.

I suppose it is pretty easy to see in most cases, I just see a lot of people wearing a scarf that complettely doesn't match, or bracelets going over a long sleeved top and I wonder if it's on purpose ^^;

And thanks for the compliments, I just thought the hat looked good with the hair, I agree that the shade of pink doesn't really have the same harmony.

Re: A Hot Mess?

Fashion is what most people feel it is.  And what people feel depends on what they've been seeing lately.  It is complex and always changing.  It has the spirit of the times.

That is why the computer is stuck deciding what is fashionable by what costs the most (coded by a married man do you maybe think?  wink  ).

A lot of us would agree that, while the outfit is good, the rose colored Birthday hat doesn't go with that outfit, for example.  Rose probably doesn't usually go with chartreuse, purple and fuchsia.

Like, what if the person genuinely likes the look of a leather jacket on the birthday dress?

Just because the person likes what they are wearing doesn't make it fashionable.

Fashion is about what people (plural) feel, not what one person feels.  One person can start a trend by wearing something new and different -- that is how new fashions are created -- but if that something new is to be fashionable most people must feel it is fashionable.

That is how I feel about it anyway.

I've proposed they change the challenges to make them based on what players feel is stylish.  If you like the idea, or have a suggestion to improve it, maybe you could post a comment here http://www.missbimbo.com/forum/t34291,1 … re-fun.htm

Re: A Hot Mess?

Fashion is what's popular, although I'm referring to individual thoughts on outfits, not fashion. I've come across some pretty big messes on this site, but I think some of them may be on purpose, just cause it's to the person's taste. I'm well aware of what's in 'fashion', but I'm wondering if there is a visible line between someone genuinely liking what their bimbo is wearing (fashionable or not), and someone doing it for the wins (although as pointed out earlier, it's sometimes pretty easy to see).

I don't understand how you'd be able to change the challenge system to that hmm Cause everyone has their own style, you can't really sum it up, and it would be hard to get a program to judge it.
