Tickets to a concert or a sporting event that you both enjoy usually goes over well with guys that I know.
I accept all no stake challenges!

Mix tapes!
My boyfriend likes to make stuff so I get him kits.
Used books are a good idea if he is a collector (you can find rarities and eccentricities).

Just get him a t-shirt or something. you can't go worng that way. But make sure you get it from a shop like just jeans or cotton on so then he can exchange it if its the wrong size.
hope it helps!

A lot of my guy friends seem to have a hard time entertaining themselves, they're always waiting on their girlfriends or their female buddies to come up with something to do so they can tag along. A good present might be tickets to a sporting event or a concert. If you do a gift certificate, put something else along with it to make it creative and fun. For example, if you get him a gift card to a movie theater, package it in a theater popcorn bucket with a couple of boxes of movie size candy, a soda, and an issue of a film magazine.

Alright ! Dont give them money : that would be insensitive ...thats not what we want right?
Give him
ONE: you know those funny caricature dolls that they sell for sports like karate? Funny AND something he likes .
TWO: books.... hmmm thats relative .... fiction ?non-fiction? action?horror? if you are not sure dont buy a book... and it looks too generalized for a present(in other words, you just bought it because you had nothing else as an option)
THREE: how about sports clothing? they are useful (KEYWORD for a guy's present), and something that every time he uses it, he will be remembering you
i would continue but ive gotta go
hope it helps

I think it depends on what he likes to do. I personally don't like to buy random stuff for gifts, it has to be something I have choosen carefully for that specific person.
But I know sometimes you don't know that person enough and boys can be so picky

how old is he? if he likes karate take him to a karate expo. what kind of exercising? lifting weights, running, cardio. get him some dumb bells, running shoes, head phones.

It depends on what kind of person he is. I've always had geeky boyfriends and it's been horrendously hard to think of presents for them. However there are a few I'm proud of. A painting of ''The Flash'' (good if he's into comics), a first edition buzz lightyear (first edition of something you boyfriend loves will always make a good impression-mine is a child at heart and loves toy story) and Indiano Jones lego (again for the childish one!). So if he's on the geeky side feel free to steal any of these ideas. For a sporty person why not get tickets for some random extreme sports event like zorbing (basically being tied inside a big blow up ball and thrown off big hills) or car racing.

I gave my bf a big picture of himself playing the bass, treated digitally and with a cool pop-art background, that he's hung on his bedroom wall (some art stores do that kinda stuff), it's really personalized and unique, because you choose the effects you want on the pic and background and so on.
This year I'll buy him a bass pedal he needs, I'd like it to be a surprise but oh well.
If a guy's into music he might like that he's given some musical accessory.
Some guys also like Lego (like more grown-up Lego, like building up a Ferrari or something). Books are always a good choice but beware of his taste.
If he has a record player, why not buy him a record instead of a cd or dvd, it's more original.
If he's the cultural type, give him a one-day ticket for all the museums or monuments in your town (buy two and go together lol).
If he's the outgoing type but you don't have bikes, buy a bike rental's day, like one of those 2-seat bikes.
So many different things you can do!

my best advice is to get him cologne. any smart guy knows that if you like it obviously other girls will like it and as a plus you get to pick what he smells like

could you get him something personal that means something to you both?for example I once got a guy loads of silly little presents and wrapped them all together like pass the parcel and each layer had a piece of card with a funny poem about each present. He loved it and said it was his favourite present. Or else you could get him something funny like once I got a guy a set of jingle bells as part of his present as I knew I would be giving it at the start of school and they made loads of noise all day!

I very well agree with Daphnee789 (above).

I don't care what anyone says. Money/gift cards is ALWAYS a great present, impersonal or not.
