I'm talking about the lads that wear fake tan and use moisturizer.. there's a guy at my school who has PEDICURES, no joke. What do you all think ? I'm all for a guy who takes care of his appearance but really.... fake tan ?!

Guys taking care of their appearance is a good thing, but a pedicure and fake tan!?! That just a bit much!

I know ! and before anyone asks, the guy in question is definitely a straight man !

I think its wrong when a guy spends more money and time on his apperance than I do.

I don't care for a fake tan on anyone, but I'm all for men putting as much time and money into their physical appearance & upkeep as I do. It only seems fair.
Besides, going to the salon with your boy can be great fun.

Why a guy could not take care of him?
Personally, I like guys who care of their appearance.

I don't think there's anything wrong with taking care of yourself no matter the cost
my hubby gets his nails done with me (manicure) & goes tanning with me. I think he goes tanning more then I do ;P He's a hot 41 year old lol

Lots of men get manicures and pedicures and fake tans! They get facials, too!
Salons offer these services to men, so men should take advantage!
I like having clean nails, so I get a mani & pedi every 2 weeks. My hands are very soft! LOL! I don't understand why anyone would have a problem with this!
Everyone needs to get over the "boys do this, girls do that" thing. Why must there be set gender rules?

tan guys are hot. i never go for pretty boys when it comes to boyfriends (unless they have an amazing personality!) but ofcourse i think they're pretty sexy. i'm down with guys taking care of their appearance : )

Ehh.. The only thing I like guys to take care of is their hair, long and straight.
Other then that I can't stand guys who moisterise or have peticures. >_>
I dont ever have peticures.
And fake tan! Ewww! Girls shouldnt even have that.

It's so disgusting! A man shouldn't act like a woman. I know some guys, who are metrosexuals, and they look awful. They usually think that they r the hottest guys on earth ever. Oh, and one told me that i'm nothing as i'm wearing black and i should go to a convent, it was very nice from a guy, who spends more time front of the mirror then i did i my whole life, don't u think?

Like he can talk.
At least, by the sounds of it, you don't follow every trend that pops up out of no where.
Metro is just an excuse for guys to look and act gay without being criticised ( I can't spell >_>)

Disgusting is kind of a strong word!
Many guys like to take care of themselves and keep clean. That can include getting manicures and pedicures and even facials. Most salons have special treatments just for men.
And while it was rude of the guy to say you're "nothing" and should "go to a convent", I think you're just as rude for calling a guy who wants to take care of himself as disgusting.
I think if you looked in the mirror as much as that guy, you'd see a person just as rude.
All a "metrosexual" is is a man who takes care of himself, dresses nicely, and uses some extra products to keep from being a rough-skinned, dirty-fingernailed, pimply-faced slob.
And if a man wants to do those things, he has every right to do so and shouldn't be put down by other little insecure people. If you don't like men like that, don't date them.
Sheesh!

What exactly does "look and act gay" mean? There are straight men who are very pretty with high voices and are bad at sports. There are gay men who are construction workers with face stubble and beer guts.
Everyone needs to STOP thinking that there's a difference between gay people and straight people. People are people. Some men like women, some men like men, some women like women. Get over it!

So you like dry crusty elbows on your guys? And long dirty fingernails?
I don't get it!

I totally agree with BambiBimbo, men should not be afraid to get a mani or a pedi!
Not too long ago I went to get a pedicure and I invited my boyfriend to come along. He totally loved it (and god I was relieved to see his toenails clipped).
While he admitted it wasn't something he would normally do, he didn't feel like his manlyness was threatened because he knew he was comfortable with his sexuality. Getting his toenails in shape can't turn him into less of a man. Gimme a break, it flip flop season! He's being considerate to society.

A guy should be able to do whatever he wants-whether its considered "femenine" or not. Personally, I feel that fake tans and mani/pedis are a waste of time and money, but if a guy wants to do it, he has just as much right to as a girl does

...
What on earth is with the hating on guys who care about their looks in the sense that they moisturise (mmm, soft skin), keep their nails nice, maybe use a bit of mascara? What on earth is with the weird dividing of "things men do" and "things women do"? What on earth is it with the gay vs straight idiocy?
More to the point, what on earth is with all the LABELLING?! Argh, I wish I could swear here, I'd pour it out now like whoa.
As for so-called metrosexuals, plz to be sending all you see my way, since the criteria for that label happen to add up to something I generally fancy. Unless they have fake tans. Fake tans are ewww per se.

Believe it or not a trip to the salon does not = cleaner/better/stronger/wiser.
In my opinion this actually means you are NOT taking care of yourself. Someone else is doing it for you and taking your money.

I said it CAN include manicures and pedicures. If some of the players in this thread saw a man filing or buffing his own nails, they would say that he's "acting like a woman". Sometimes, it's actually more convenient (and pampering!) to pay someone else to do it for you.
I think some people have a problem with men having smooth skin and shiny fingernails and clear pores!

Pedicures for men are becoming all the rage. The guy who does mine said they have more and more men coming in and having peds done. Nothing wrong with a guy who likes to be pampered too.
