I remind myself of a little kid talking about ponies all the time.
I spend my free time studying between semesters before Grad school. Ran out of money in the middle of my freshman year, so my bachelors is off for some time, but I still read about the anatomy and behavior of animals. :]
I'd like to know what pets you all have. I'm interested in the "strange" for the most part, but I'm still tickled pink by a cute puppy.
I personally rehabilitate pets that have been neglected. My recent accomplishment is getting a Richardson's ground squirrel out into the house from his cage and to stop biting people. He was a forfeit to the animal control when his previous owner was charged with animal abuse.
I also practice behavior modification on my own pets. Particularly on a rescue from an abusive home. And by rescue, I mean I stole her. Shhh.
A few stitches to her belly and head, and she was all ready for a new life. :]
I have quite a few.
Three rats, three dogs, four cats and two of their babies, four fish, frog, chinese hamster, california rabbit, and a cute but untame and vicious little butt of an English budgie.
Your turn. Omy.

Hi!
I have a creamsicle tabby cat. He is about 5 years old, and his name is Pipecleaner, because he is way fluffy and his tail looks like a, well, pipecleaner.
Usually I just call him Piper though.

Also, when I am in a park or at the beach/baywalk and see people walking their dogs, I pet as many as possible (I ask permission first).
I want a bunny but that is not in the picture right yet until I am more settled somewhere.

Bunnies are pee monsters if they're too big.
Sometimes I wish I had gotten a 4lb bunny, but I opted for a 12lb bunny that's dirtier than a baby. Ha.

Ha! Pee monsters. *gigglesnort*
I have 2 kitties - both black and foofy. The big one is Brutus, the small one is Havana, or minibrutus, hence the bimbo name.

I have three cats. Billy is the oldest. We call him Greyness 'cause he's all grey (is that obvious?). He's uber cool. Then there's Mercedes, she's pregnant at the moment. O_O LOL. And then there's THEODORE! Theodore used to be called Toyah, until we found out it was a boy so we renamed him Theodore. Lol. [:
My cats are cool.

I have a German Shepherd, A Husky-Mutt, Three Yorkshire Terriers, A Calico cat, A black-and-white cat, a half-feral Tabby cat, and a dwarf-mix rabbit. The names in order are Sydney, Willow, Neko, Emi, Louis (like Loo-ee), Autumn, Barkley, Belladonna, and Laramie.
I've also had:
4 rats, which were Vladimir, Cassimir, Erasmus, and Demeter.
4 other cats, being Tit (yes, as in breast.), Rini, Serine, And Isis.
1 other Yorkshire terrier, called Nadia
2 Guina Pigs, Lee and Diablo
2 Hamsters, Osiris and Loki
All of these guys have died for one reason or another. Most of them just got sick or old, some of them died in a house fire we had, one got hit by a car, and one fell in our pool and drowned.
And theeeen we had a coon. We'd found her and her brother in our front yard one day covered with ticks when they were just tiny babies. The brother died from blood loss, but the girl survived and we called her Rocky. She was a crazy little thing, as eing a coon would dictate, and she lived in a huge ferret cage in our back yard. We'd have her out in the yard playing with us and the dogs and stuff, and sometimes she'd get into the house and we'd have one heck of a time getting her back out.
We had her for spring and most of the summer of the year we'd found her, and then we let her go in a little wooded area a little ways away from our house. She came back to visit us and get food once or twice after that, but then she didnt come around again.
We almost had two more coons last year, because my aunt had seen their mother and two of their siblings get hit by a car and rushed over to where my family was staying to get me. I picked then up and cuddled them and whatnot on the side of the road and they didnt have any issues with being handled (they were real young), so I put them in a pet taxi with some towels and brought them back home. We would have kept them untill they wer big enough to survive by themselfs, like Rocky, but our house had just burned down and we were staying in a little 3 bedroom trailer (that is, my mom, her boyfriend, myself, my two little bothers, my little sister, our (at the time) 6 dogs, (at the time) 14 cats, and 2 rabbits), so we didnt have any roo or the nice big backyard for them to play in and stuff, and they ended up going to animal control who I figure took them to a reserve that was not-too-far-away fro there.

Currently: we have Tia and Tassy (border collies - litter mates) and Sparky (miniature poodle).
At one time, when my son was about 3, we had a cat and a gecko, but one day the cat ate the gecko and that was the end of that. I really loved that cat. Finally had to get rid of her when I got married because she HATED my then-husband. (I should have taken listened to the cat) Ebony (the cat, who was - yes- black) decided that his clothes and (LMAO) his placemat at the table were much more suited to pooping on and in than was her litterbox.
Yup! Shoulda listened to the cat!!!

I have quickly learned to listen to my animal friends!
My dog bit my ex until he cried, and my cat peed in his shoe and hissed at him. They did this every time he came over.
Turned out they were right!

Agreed, Aristes! The border collies were mine and the poodle was my current husband's. My dogs never really warmed up to anyone but me - until my husband came along. Even my female (Tia) is totally devoted to him now and she is VERY stand-offish and suspicious by nature. They know he's a good guy!
