Haha! I just imagined Bill wearing the sorts of things Nancy Reagan would wear. ...

I saw him in a grey suit and pillbox hat combo a la Carla Bruni

It is a very dangerous topic but some one wanted to know what a McCain supporter thought of the Hillary/Obama situation.
I don't like either one. Hillary (don't send me nasty messages)...as a woman she just can't keep her "feelings" under control and crying on tv proved we are not ready for a female president.....what is she gonna do.....get what she wants by shedding tears? No way, that's a huge sign of weakness I don't want in my next president.
And Obama, everything that surrounds him and his wife....not the answer either, Our country is going downhill and this election is just going to make it worse in my opinion.
I agree this is a very sensitive subject.
But I lean more towards John McCain.
Obama doesn't have enough experience.
I don't trust him, because everything that surrounds him and his wife ( I tried to find the best way to word it.) Plus the thing he said about middle class people.

That's why, on most forums I've been on, discussing politics (and religion, for that matter) is against the rules. I'm surprised that they aren't against the rules here.

I know what you mean. The discussions at my home (with my bf) get out of control and he supports the same candidate as me...our fights happen when he says he'll be happy to vote for either dem...I lose it!

I'm writing in Ron Paul.
I lean towards Republicanism because I'm fiscally conservative but I can't stand McCain. And I think the Democratic bickering is a ridiculous farce. Neither Clinton nor Obama are qualified, though if I HAD to pick one it'd be Obama just because at least he's something different and I'd rather take a risk than be stuck with someone I know I don't like.

I used to be on board with Hillary but now I'm team Obama.
I can't stand how Hillary's running her campaign, she's coming off as a common schoolyard bully and she's lost my vote and respect.
Obama's not running against one candidate, he's got both Clintons to contend with, if you think about it.

I'm for Obama. He's a great public speaker, but I'm really hoping that he can live up to his promises. I mean, we want a president that does what he says he's going to do right?
I just out right hate Hilary Clinton. ...
If Obama doesn't win the candidacy or the overall election, and McCain wins, I would be okay with that.

lol short and sweet. a friend of mine still thinks ron paul could and should win.
if i had to choose a non-dem, it would be him. i like his views on gun laws. and dems are notorious for being way too constrictive when it comes to our second amendment rights.
and also, what is all this "all the things that surround him and his wife" talk about Obama? what about him and his wife?

The problem is that I don't believe that any of them could win Mc Cain...
They'd have to stop to try to ruin each other... They should work together after and accept the american's decision (Obama or Clinton).
If they carry on quarreling, I'm scared that Mc Cain wins...

I'm an anarchist so... no one for president. None of the usual at least...

This post was probably referring to all the comments that have been used against the Obamas, as well as the things their former pastor did. The comments are the following:
People in Pennsylvania are bitter and cling to their guns and religion (said by Obama trying to explain why the people in Penn need help, but of course taken out of context and used against him)
A number of things supposedly said by his wife that people claim are racist comments and actions (supposedly she wanted more white people behind her at a speech one time, I'm a little fuzzy on that)
His wife also said that America's reaction to Obama's campaign made her really proud to be an American (which people said meant she was never proud before, which again, is not necessarily what was meant, just how it was perceived)
Most of these things are not a big deal but the Clinton campaign has been grasping at straws and trying to trash him for every single thing.

Being a feminist, I almost feel it my duty to vote Hilary in office. Like many, I am just ready for a new president. I also think Obama is stuck in Lalaland. Too many promises that I do not see coming into fruition.

I don't trust any of the candidates to do a good job. I'm from Illinois and to be honest, I don't know a thing he's done for my state. I don't think he'd be able to get any change done because he is so wet behind the ears. All the hype for him seems due to the fact that he's a good speaker but I don't really believe what he's saying. It seems too...I don't know.
Like most of the others I supported Clinton until her campaign went dirty cause I thought she had the best chance of getting things done than Obama. She has political experience that Obama is lacking.
I'm not sure if a republican can get elected into the White House this election simply because of the anti-Bush sentiment. No matter how much distance McCain can put between him and Bush people will still lump them together because they're from the same party. The real question will be who actually bothers to vote since voter turn out has been really bad.

This is what I'm HOPING for. Out of McCain, Clinton and Obama I'd prefer Obama because I'm hoping he'll be too inexperienced to get much done. I'm afraid of what the other two will be able to do in office.
