I love Paradise Lost, Rammstien, Lacuna Coil, Within Temptation, Nightwish, Leaves' Eyes, Machine Head, Meshuggah, Korn, Apocalyptica, Birthday Massacre, Fear Factory....and many more
.
Can't wait for the Slipknot tour!! I know in mainland Europe their support is Children of Bodom and Machine Head, hopefully they'll bring that over to the UK!! Had a listen to their new song (not a single though) thats only available for streaming today, it's not bad

If you're going to bring up older metal you can't ignore Iced Earth, Blind Guardian, Saxon and several of the other metal bands that resisted the glam/hair push. Also you can't discount groups like Nightwish or Opeth that bring more to the metal table then just fast riffs

yep sounds more like my music even though i do listen to some softer stuff at time now.

I like Panic! At The Disco (or at least their first album; I haven't heard the second yet but I've heard it's not good and is a rip-off of '60s music like the Beatles and Pink Floyd, and I'd much rather listen to the Beatles and Pink Floyd), but they're not metal and they're not really hard rock, either.

It's not as good. They are trying to change their style up

Yeah; it's one thing to have your style evolve and change naturally over time so you can make new, exciting music that both old and new fans will like (example: how Brand New's music has evolved; most people that I know who like them like the change. Another example: The Beatles' music evolving and changing over time but still staying the same underneath it all).
But Panic! (or should I say Panic without the ! since they took off the exclamation point) forced change and it doesn't really work (at least what I've heard doesn't work).

Have you ever been to Wave Gothik Treffen?
I've always wanted to go, but the traveling and ticket costs are too expensive. Not to mention the liquor CARDS!! We don't have anything like that on my side of the planet
