What guys and girls like in one another

Now, I'm not sure if anyone feels this way, and this may be kind of emo... But I've noticed a lot of girls are attracted to the jerk types. What I mean is they stay with a guy even though they treat them like dirt. Honestly, I don't know why.

Don't get me wrong... I myself enjoy the "bad girl" image. You know, the punk starlet type. But that's just me (there is such a wide selection it's hard to narrow it down). But that doesn't mean I want her to treat me like crap.

Why do a lot of women (not all) say "I want a good guy" and then find the worst one possible and do their best to "change" them. I don't understand...?

Unfortunately the 'wrong' men are usually more exciting! We all go through it. It wasn't until my late 20s until I realised that the 'nice' guys weren't boring. big_smile

There's a lot of good people around, girls and guys - but i guess when you're younger your 'image' plays a much bigger part of your life. It's much harder to have a positive relationship when you're still trying to figure out 'who' you are yourself, if you know what I mean.

Very true. I'd like to believe that I already know who I am and that I know everything and the world around me... but I've been wrong in the past smile

smile yes, totally understand where you're coming from! (There are also a lot of 10 year olds on this site that think they already think they know everything big_smile )

I always went for guys around 10 years older than me for that exact reason - though even some of them were spectacularly immature!

The guy I ended up marrying is six years younger than me - go figure!

Just don't get too hung up on things and try to enjoy the ride. There's no point wishing your life away. Every relationship you have, good or bad, will be a learning experience.

(and now I'm starting to sound like my Mother yikes )

I’ve never been into the bad boys thang, I like my men dark haired but that’s about as far as it goes. I think it's because I’m very attracted to intelligence, fortunately I have yet to meet a 'bad boys' with an IQ over a 100.

aah i think us girls see 'bad boys' as a kinda project. we wanna be the one to change them. and that makes us feel special.

well thats my opinion.
so recently i go for the more nice guy tipe. turns out he is completely OBLIVIOUS. lol.
