Yes, it is oh so quiet here today but why listen to Bjork when you could be corresponding with yours truly? Or am I answering my own question?
I'm happy to chat about almost anything this afternoon, where usually I'd not post in this manner, as I could really use the distraction. Anyone?

Everyone is holidaying in America, or just happens to live there, I guess?
All we ask is that you all modify how you live your lives by nine hours, that's all!

I'm in America and wide awake!

Unless you really need to be asleep, I suppose?

No, I'm getting ready for class. It's 9:42am.

Well, it's nice to have you here before you leave. We're bored - I may speak for you here, Numpty, right?

I actually have no idea why I woke up so early. I don't have class til 11:30 and it takes me an hour to get to campus.

So, it's the very scenic route for you today then, Abi?

Oh it always takes an hour to get to campus.

What are you studying in your first class this AM?
I doubt I'll know enough about the subject to keep much of a conversation going but every little does help, at least it seems to for one overly-successful supermarket chain.

Genetics

That's a bit of it
I wish it were all of it.

I'm going to go ahead and pretend that I know something of genetics, what aspect of said subject (remembering that I know it intimately
) are you looking at today, the human genome in hereditary disease and potential prevention of same?
I sound so knowledgeable!

That does sound pretty smart, but I believe we're covering DNA and how it replicates and recombines information.

That would be more than just the obvious, production of the next generation, example I suppose? I have no doubt that my DNA is hard at work as I type, preparing my body for future limitations before I overexert myself.
Offline
Making gametes for the next generation is one example. But your DNA is always replicating as your cells undergo mitosis to produce more cells.

Which is jolly useful as, I seem to recall, brain cells have a nasty habit of dying off, and not just when I happen to bump my head.
EDIT: Mitosis is a process of division, right, and not to be confused with osmosis or the osmotic process?

Yeah, they kind of do. Well I hate to leave the most intelligent conversation I've ever had on Miss Bimbo, but I must depart.

Aw, I was about to find out about Mitosis. Have a great day.
EDIT: you just know that I will spend the day reading genetics now, don't you?
