Firstly, sex at your age is illegal, however you are practicing safe sex.
I have had the implant since 2006, It lasts for three years so that is a good point.
It does not hurt too much getting it put in or taken out but I am well hard haha
Anyway, some down sides are that it causes irregularities with your period. I can be on for 5 weeks then not have a period for 2 months. All people are different, my friend has never had a period since she got hers and another friend bled everyday for a year before getting it taken out.

It's not illegal for her to have sex at 15, it's illegal for someone over 18 (or whatever age her country considers appropriate) to have sex with her.
As for the implant I think you should talk about it with your parents and your doctor first. Some people have good experiences with it and some don't. You need to be aware of the possible negative side effects first.

What about the pill? Have you considered taking it ?

There was a big panic in the UK early last year because some womens implants failed and they got pregnant. They've probably fixed that now but still, I'd be too freaked out to get it now.
I'd recommend going on the pill instead. If you have negative side effects to the pill they can change which pill you're prescribed but with the implant it's much harder to solve the problem. If you do get the pill make sure you know all the facts such as it being ineffective on anti biotics etc and remember to take it daily!

Presuming she is from the UK which I think she is
"If a young man and young woman have sex together and they are both 13, 14 or 15 years old, the young man is breaking the law."

Well then her boyfriend is breaking the law, not her. Kind of a stupid law.
Does that mean it would be ok if they were 12?

No, it would mean another crime

No that is classed as another crime. I would search it lol but I am already procrastinating from an assignment due in tomorrow.
I agree about the stupid law they should both be held accountable if they are the same age and it is consensual.

15? Sexing? Why not abstinence? it's a great contraceptive implant... probably the best.

My boyfriend and I use condoms. I can't take the pill because it screws with all my other medication and I get pretty undesirable side effects. I don't much want the implant either.
We just use condoms. But I wouldn't recommend just condoms unless you're able to control your urges... My boyfriend and I have slipped up a fair few times and I became pregnant in October. I miscarried two months later, however. We've been extra vigilant since, my boyfriend is in fear mode. Fun times.

Have you considered oral contraceptives, nuvaring, or the patch (ortho evra)? I think you should keep your options open.
I know a lot of OB/GYNs through my family and from what I hear, hardly any of them like the implant. They only prescribe it to women who have blood disorders that limit their options.
Good for you for wanting to use a method besides condoms!! It's always safest to use condoms in conjunction with something like an oral contraceptive.
I am personally on the patch and I love it!!

Its best to speak to a doctor/nurse/family planning clinic/GUM clinic.
I know that they don't like to give the injection to people under a certain age due to the damage it can do to growth and you bones, not sure if the implant is the same.
But if you go speak to a prefessional you can discuss with them the best option for you. What works well for some does work so well for others. They change your hormones and since we are all different this can have a different effect on different women.
