Dry skin help!

I have the most incredibly dry skin ever these days. It's always been a little dry and tight but in this cold weather, it's truly awful and such a bother. Does anyone have any advice or good products they can recommend? I'm in the UK if that helps.
Thanks Bimbos!

edit: of course, as soon I as post this, I notice almost an identical post just below! Haha, nevermind!

Re: Dry skin help!

you have just got to moisturise!! here is no other option but i don't know if it helps but i usually ex-foliate my skin often in the winter season maybe you can try that too.

Re: Dry skin help!

Moisturize before you go to sleep, in the morning (before you leave the warmth of your house) and right after the shower. I'm not in the UK but this is what I use : http://www.cosypharm.com/la-roche-posay … 637354.cfm

Re: Dry skin help!

I try to avoid using store-brought moisturizers in excess, because sometimes they have chemicals that can irritate your skin. I bought a bottle of Vitamin E (good for skin) + mineral oil and put a tiny bit around my forehead/eyes in the morning, and a little bit more in the evening before bed. It was really cheap too, and makes my skin really soft smile

Wash your face to keep it clean, but try to avoid exfoliating too much, or scrubbing too hard when you clean. That will irritate your skin, making it more dry. And also lead to premature wrinkles! Use a moisturizer with sunscreen if you are going outside, since sun exposure also dries the skin.  Stay hydrated also! The best time to moisturize is after a shower, so your skin can retain that moisture.

Re: Dry skin help!

I use face cream with cocoa butter in it. Since I've switched to this one from my old moisturiser, my dry skin seems to be improving smile It's especially good around the nose, where I used to always have dry skin.

Re: Dry skin help!

Trust me when I say I the WORST dry skin. If I forget to take care of my skin for one day it's awful. I found Nivea Extra Nourishing Body Milk cream is AMAZING. Pricey but it lasts a long time and it will cure that dry skin in a day. I recommend putting it on before bedtime because it is a little oily and I doubt you want to be shiny among friends, co-workers, etc.

Lotions with Aloe Vera and Coconut Butter are also great! If all else fails, try Vaseline.

Re: Dry skin help!

When I have dry skin, I find that heavier products work best, like any sort of body butter with olive oil or coconut oil or cocoa butter. Plus, DRINK LOTS OF WATER! I know its obvious, and you probably drink plenty anyways, but try to drink at least 2 litres of water a day! Before I did drink 2 litres (because I was really sick), and the next day, my skin was amazingly moist!! I didn't even have to put moisturiser on! The day after that though, my skin went back to dry because I didnt keep up that drinking habit.

This is awesome if your skin is really dry: http://sklepkratka.iai-shop.com/data/gf … /671_1.jpg
I am using it sometimes, when the time is bad and my skin is dying wink
Also you should drink more water. A lot more.
