I'm not really a big fan of the all black background, I feel like it should have a bit more color (but then again I like bright colors). Your pictures are nice but I feel like for a CV they should be taken by a professional (I could be wrong since I know nothing about your field). And I like the layout. Would like to see the page when you're done.

Layout is okay, color scheme is sorta blah though. As for the photos, I think if you're serious about pursuing an acting career you should invest in a few decent headshots.
This is one of the actors at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in my town, Ashland. Maybe his website design will inspire you.

If you don't mind me asking, where are you located? If you're in the LA area, I know of an awesome photographer for headshots, they're phenominal.

Thanks both of you
and Sapharii, cheers for that actors website that will defo be alot of use.
As for headshots, at the moment i don't feel like professional ones are 100% needed, i've still got 2 years of college left before im out on the field by myself, so it would be a waste of money. However i have got a photoshoot on Thursday with one of my close friends who will be doing some headshots for me then, just for experience for us both.
Thanks again both of you.

I don't like the color of the background either. It's very plain as well as the font. You should try something more interesting in both.
The head-shots are nice but I think something more professional looking would be way better. Maybe if you have a talented photographer friend you could ask him to take some head-shots and photos of you.

Please see above post ;P
see because its my CV one my tutor said to keep it plain and simple, but I agree, when we were looking around at websites as a class I liked the ones that were colourful and stood out, however the majority of the class didn't.

I agree with a lot of what's already been said. I also think the first page that appears is very plain. Maybe you could create a banner with a collection of pictures of you (I'd recommend using 3) and put it at the top and then have a small intro paragraph underneath. So just explain who you are, where you're located, how much experience you have and hopefully that will encourage people to keep looking at your profile. Remember that the first impression is most important

I like the black/gray/blue color scheme, but I agree with most of the other posters that it needs a bit more oomph to it. Maybe add some borders/text blocks/etc in shades of blue so it is not so basic html-y. And I think a splash of color on the front page (even if it's a beautiful photo you've taken) could look really nice if you artfully arrange it on the page (as a banner, perhaps?). It also gives the page a bit more personality
And I understand totally what you mean about being on a college student budget and not wanting to waste money on expensive professional photos. But having photos of you that look like they were taken in a bathroom mirror or with a webcam will likely not leave a good impression- so get some good-quality photographs from your photographer friend and put those up pronto! Also-- if you could grab some screenshots/photos of you in costume and makeup during performance or film, that would be a great way to give viewers a glimpse of your potential, and range of expression. Check out aspiring/amateur photographers in your area- many of them may have all the professional equipment, and be willing to charge less (or nothing at all), if you let them use your images in their developing portfolio.
Lastly, I'm a spelling/grammar nut. On your photos page, you wrote "here you will find up to date headshots and photo's of Rianne Stratford"
It should be written "Here you will find up-to-date headshots and photos of Rianne Stratford". Also- I think "headshots" and "photos" is a bit redundant- maybe just say "photos".
Good luck!

I quite like the colours and the navigation bar at the top, looks pleasant.
But... the whole thing being a Flash object put me off instantly. A whole website being in Flash always strikes me as showy, amateurish and less worthy of my time. A video or a game, sure... links and photos, definitely not.
Of course that doesn't relate specifically to your site... it's more of an internet-wide issue for me (and quite a lot of other folk). Just think it would improve the site a great deal if it wasn't Flash.

I dont think you need to spend lots of money on the head shots if any. Just use the same camera and get a friend to take them. They need to be less facebook/myspace and more about actually seeing your face. There aren't going to cast you by looking at the side of your face or you having hair all over your face.

I'm not a designer but the layout is so unbalanced.
The design is so gloomy because of the dark background. It doesn't match to you, it's a very manly color!
A white (old pink, creme, neutral green/blue) background would be more "feminine" with black Arial/Verdana font, than for the header I'd use bold color, kind of serif or sans serif (basics) . The header shouldn't contain punctuations.
Also the page order in menu bar is messed up a little, your CV is much more important than the gallery.
Flash gives nice effects but sites based on HTML/CSS... coding are much more practical, easier to edit and available to everyone. Few posts upper there's a good example why.
About the gallery. You are pretty what is important in the industry but the quality is bad. The photos look like those Facebook ones. Bad composition, angle, blur, lighting, overexposure.. just to name few.
Do you have any photos from plays/movies you played in? If you do, put those there.
