I'm asking this on behalf of my best friend who has super dry hair and I'm trying to help her find a suitable hairstyle for the upcoming prom in two weeks.
Our first plan is to just have her hair straight, but the problem is that she can't have rebonding because the hairdresser said that her hair will get worse and we tried using hair iron on her but it took five hours before we got it straight and in just an hour, it get backs to normal even though we used styling cream.
Do you guys have any tips and any hairstyle ideas?
[i](I got this picture in google! She's not my friend but their hair is almost similar but my friends' worse...)

I don't really know a lot about hair, but I'd say before even considering a hairstyle your friend should focus on getting her hair into a healthy condition. Most styling products and heat products such as flat iron will only make the situation worse by drying her hair out. So instead find a good shampoo and conditioner that moistures and restores the hair. However, she should not wash her hair too often as it removes natural oils and avoid blow drying as it might further damage her hair. At last use a hair mask either homemade or store bought.
Edit: And remember to drink a lot of water ^.^

Don't use any heat products. That'll wreck it more.
Intensive moisturising masks? You can even make your own really cheap, just google. Or pile loads of conditioner on and leave it for an hour.
As for styles, maybe keep it in a plait or bun?

I had really dry hair at one point (it wasnt too bad luckily but was so dry!) hairdresser told me to deep condition it weekly, and condition every time i wash it. I now use shampoo for heat damaged hair and have cut down how often i straighten it and this has really helped

She should allow it to get dirty sometimes for a start. I find if I leave my hair for a whole then wash it it's really soft. Also henna conditioner is really good you either put it in whilst you have a bath or put a hot damp towel on your head an leave it on for as long as you need it. I used to bleach my hair and my hair is in good condition despite that.

I agree.
If I were her, I would first put olive or coconut oil on my hair for a couple of hours before shower then shampoo my hair, apply a mix of conditioner and hair cream bath and wrap it in a hot towel for 30 minutes then after shower apply hair food cream. The hair food smooths the hair and controls the frizz. I use Palmer's

As for the hairstyle, I'd go with a bun and maybe try to make it a little creative. Like this

Yeah there are tons of really beautiful looking buns and if you guys will be going to a hairstylist before prom he should be able to make any or you could find tutorials on Youtube if you're not going to one

i love messy updo's. And my friend had hers up, with some backcombing and curls and a flower on the bun, she looked beautiful.
Go for a simple look, and focus on your make up. This hair style is simple, but far from plain.

Your friend ought to stop using heated products on her hair for a god few weeks, let it air dry, deep condition it and have her split ends cut off. She should also invest in a really good heat protection spray or cream for her hair.

She needs to allow her hair to repair itself. Not using any products or heat would help. Just shampoo and conditioner and things that will add needed moisture to her hair and scalp.
Never use an iron for that long. You're supposed to just run it through your hair, for a few seconds. Not hours. That's why her hair is so dry. Those bun hair styles are very nice, and easy to do. Id imagine they'd be the best option when it comes to concealing her damaged hair. Since it will all be up.

Same thing happened to me a few years back, used every product known to man, nothing worked, there was nothing left for me to do but shave it all off. Gotta say, it did the trick. My hair's very soft and shiny now.

I think the bun idea is great. I think her best bet would be to cut as much of it as possible off after prom, hair that badly damaged is never going to get healthy.

I think so too. But one of the major problem is, that from root to tips, her hair is VERY dry. and see the picture i posted on the first post? it's worse than that. we also tried the bun, but her hair is just too thick and 'unruly'. I really feel bad for her :\
