Critiques and Help Needed on a Contest Entry Sketch!

So, I will hopefully be entering this idea in a contest on Gaiaonline, but before I go farther than the sketch, here are some things to know:

The Sketch:
Entry in Progress

The Basics:
The girl is meant to be pretty skinny (Almost anorexic.).
She has four eyes, hence those extra "slits" beneath her eyes.
She is some form of elf (Ears).
There is an aberration coming out of her right arm, kinda like clumpy chunks of her skin with dark holes.
Glass buildings in the background, with the girl's aberration seemingly "taking over" the city.

The Set Colors:
Her skin is very pale (Little to no sunlight.).
Her eyes (All) are red/orange with blotchy spots.
Her hair is reddish/orange.

My idea:
All the scribbles you see are meant to be pure black, I was planning on having the black fading out into the scene in the background.
For the building scene, I was going to have a somewhat cloudy red/orange sky (Naturally with the glass windows reflecting the same colors.).
In the end, I am hoping to have a line-less artwork entry.
I was hoping to have a mix of emotionless/sadness in her face.
I want a realistic result.

Now for the Help:
1. I have little to no idea on what to color her dress, I would likely color it white.
2. I know something is wrong with the face of her shape and her arms, any help you can give me? (Lips are pretty bad too... but it is a sketch.)
3. I welcome tutorial suggestions! (For the background, skin, hair, light sources, blood for a shiny-ish effect, veins etc.)
4. If you think you cannot explain your thoughts well, I welcome you to draw on my sketch!

I expect this work to take 2-4 weeks and I plan on updating this thread so you guys can help me fix mistakes and such.

I personally do not take critiques very well, but I could really use the help!

I love it, it's beautiful, I am so jealous

1. have you thought about a dark green for the dress? it'll be a nice contrast to the eyes, hair and skin tone.
2. I dunno about the face, but the elbow should ideally be at the slim-est part of the waist, you seem pretty close to it to me smile the boob on the left looks a little squashed to me, like her dress is too tight on her bust. I dunno if it was your intention, I couldn't see it on your list, but it's very realistic big_smile
3. I've recentally started buying this magazine, it has lots of tips and guides in it. It's very interesting :nod nod:

1. Nope, I had not thought of that, thanks for the suggestion *smile*, we will see how it turns out.
2. *laughs* I had forgotten about the breast, I had not meant to have them look too squashed, more lightly tight... yeah *snicker*...

Pity I do not exactly have the money for it *laughs*, but I hopefully can find a few tutorials *smile*.

Hey, do you have any light source(s) ideas? (Technically, there should be two, one for her, one for the background.)

As for the updates, they will probably be quite random *laughs*, I still have a few requests to finish before I can really dig into my entry *smile*. (I need a head start on critiques though.)

Here is a small update, I just started doing something with this entry.
I have been doing a bunch of contest entries and requests, but I think I have around a month left for this contest (At least for another update from the host.) so I am going to try to get something done.

I am actually going to try to do this all in one layer, but every so often I am going to duplicate the layer (Like a checkpoint.) so that I can go back if I make some big mistake.

Anyway... I am currently putting down some basic colors, right now the colors are darkened (The sketch layer is on "Grain extract" and the layer I am coloring on is black.):

Progress 1 (The result will be somewhat bigger than that.)

*laughs* Thank you so much!

It required a LOT of smudging... a lot *laughs*.
I mixed in a bit of the hair color too (At low opacity.).

*snickers* The lips came out by accident while I was coloring her face, the eyes came out better than I expected too...
I also kept looking at other people's work (sakimichan and Shiramune from DeviantArt.) for how they made them look so good, although I am still not up to their level *laughs*.
