Here's something nerdy... Planethunters is looking for people to start going through data collected by the Kepler planet hunting mission to observe and see if planets can be found by people that computers can't detect.

Wow, I find that amazing
I went too the site and did a little bit of "hunting", did you try it sleapyhead?

I tried it too... but I had a couple glasses of wine at the time and I was not understanding what I was supposed to do because the tutorial is limited. But after some practice runs of going through the random stars that popped up for me I was starting to get the hang of it. I'm sure there are people on the site who know exactly what they are doing, and I think it's awesome that they are being given the opportunity to identify new exo-planets... plus, it's equally awesome that they will receive credit in any publications that discuss the new finding.

Hi, can I join? I'm a total book nerd. So far, I have read the Harry Potter series 29-30 times, and I have read over 1000 books. But hey, who's counting, right?
I've been reading since I was a baby. LOL

You must read the Harry Potter books, they are great!
Read them before you see the movies, the films are good but not as wonderful as the books.

I can't list them all
but some of them are of course Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings, Belgarion, the Riftwar Saga and the Vampire Chronicles. I just found this wonderful author, Trudi Canavan, and I love her books in the Black Magician Trilogy. It's good to see a woman as the main character for once.

Ive just updated the list

My boyfriend plays League of Legennnnnds allll the time, Camarera. I decided I'm going to play with him when we get a macbrook pro in June. Right now, we only have one worthwhile computer, zee 27" iMac... my other laptops are junk.
Welcome everyone
I just read today that some "philosophers" are discussing whether one can choose to be gay or not. I think it's really interesting and I feel that bringing new subjects to light are going to really shape the field of study. Most people I consider as "philosophers" nowadays are just theoretical physicists.

That is an interesting topic, I hve to think about this one a little bit

Is Eve written by Iris Johansen? If that's the one you meant, I looked it up and I think it sounds amazing. Sounds truly creepy

I actually ment the one by Anna Carey, but i googled the one by Iris and I also like it , heres the summary of Eve by A.C.
Where do you go when nowhere is safe?
Sixteen years after a deadly virus wiped out most of Earth’s population, the world is a perilous place. Eighteen-year-old Eve has never been beyond the heavily guarded perimeter of her school, where she and two hundred other orphaned girls have been promised a future as the teachers and artists of the New America. But the night before graduation, Eve learns the shocking truth about her school’s real purpose—and the horrifying fate that awaits her.
Fleeing the only home she’s ever known, Eve sets off on a long, treacherous journey, searching for a place she can survive. Along the way she encounters Arden, her former rival from school, and Caleb, a rough, rebellious boy living in the wild. Separated from men her whole life, Eve has been taught to fear them, but Caleb slowly wins her trust . . . and her heart. He promises to protect her, but when soldiers begin hunting them, Eve must choose between true love and her future.

Oh man, I need to read that one. I better get my read on. I'm reading The Night Circus right now. And I have two other books waiting in line... World Made By Hand and The Witch of Hebron (which comes after the first, respectively).
