I know this issue is long passed, but the anime eyes are driving me crazy! come on! I joined this game because the little dress up "dolls" didnt look like Japanese cartoon characters. I cant stand anime and the whole genre/culture. cant there be something that doesnt associate itself with this fad?!
I am obviously still irritated by the bimbo illustration changes. you can only really tell the was a change if you compare the new and old, but i just feel violated. Like i was forced into associating with a culture against my will, with no choice. I left the game after that. Im back, but only because I wasted my money on a longterm VIB membership and i might as well do something with it.
I really think the game should transition back!

With makeup I learned to accept the face. But not that the only mascara I like still looks off since it doesnt go around my eyes like it used to. Kind weird now with the new direction that our bimbos look like kids. Dollphane like that style so thats why we got it. We havent really got that much more make up since.
I said shoot me if you really hate me and then he shot me in the head. I could see it all happen right before my eyes and I was lying down there dead. And the nightmares came over me againOffline

Big eyes = anime automatically? That's wrong on both accounts (Big eyes aren't just anime and anime aren't just big eyes.) But it's kinda besides the point. I think we're sorta stuck with this look and.... I like it.

I think it's a cute idea
Girls are like Pokémon. It doesn’t matter how good you are; you can’t catch any if you don’t have any balls. ♥ Offline
Inu: They have been called anime eyes since they arrived? I think its just "the name". Hah.
Hina: I dont get it, whats cute over some players wanting the old eyes/face back?

Or you are a little right probably, probably just by players but since several made the connection between eyes-anime I guess it cant be "reprogrammed". It was that way for me and I'm not into Anime/Manga. Not that we have anything against it, just a connection many made and well since we knew DP like to make his drawings that way.

I think she though that this thread was a suggestion for more anime-ish eyes.
I don't see the point of having realistic looking eyes if the rest of the doll is a cartoon. Cartoon doll, cartoon eyes.

This doll is never going to look like the old doll, since the site owners had a falling out with the French website who's doll they originally used. No one is forcing you to stay if you feel so "violated" by a change in a pixel doll

Bluebirdy:
I think her whole post is about the changes in the bimbos face? Not the french thing.
Personally I want the old eyes since they fitted better and made her look less childish.

Ohhh, well, honestly I can't even tell anymore. I know that with some mascara it's more obvious, but I guess I'm just not very observant
Anyway, MissPuchinin, from the Ideas Guidelines:
To be implementable, the idea can't require undoing the work that has been done already.

I love this idea!

I think they look more doll-like than anime, personally. And I do like anime. I am curious, though, why such a strong hate? I can understand not being into it, but kind of interesting that you treat it like it has active herpes.
The large eye phenomenon in anime was based on Disney princesses, to begin with. >.>

i'm hearing a lot about an old look and how it was so much better - what did it look like previous the change? i like the look we have right now

For me its thats the mascaras dont fit now that is the problem, probably would be easy to fix though.

well first of all, its not that the eyes just got larger. i have large eyes, but they still look like the eyes everyone else has. I dont know anything about the french politics or the politics of the message board. and i have found a mascara i use that has greatly minimized the change.
for some reason, i never thought of the character so much as a stylized cartoon, but as attempting to be a realistic barbie or other reality based doll. I do not necessarily have a large hatred for anime, i just have some pet peves. but going out of their way to make the character look more cartoonish is a statement to differentiate this character from any human type, or realistic entity. This could be politically motivated as a response to the diet pills and plastic surgery controversy. They may be trying to underline the difference between the game's fantasy and our human reality to show they they are not creating an unhealthy role model. This is a reasonable assumption, since after the game's publicity they changed the diet pills to medicine. searching for strategic causes to changes in the game may seem paranoid, but after that "beaver" controversy and other current ones, you can tell that they really are trying to figure out how to set the line between a character based in reality and one that should not be looked at in that way. It is a very thin line and a difficult one to place, but as i saw this game as a type of dress up of a realistic entity, i am disappointed in the changes but understand the motivations. These changes just seem to show that in creating the game, they didnt anticipate it's affect on "society," meaning it's symbolism and role model type affect. The pressure the creators are under is amplified because of the involvement of children who are more sensitive to minute properties of the game.
My thoughts may sound scattered, but i think you can understand the main concepts i am trying to share. In terms of the overall game, these changes may seem positive, but as a member who has a greater grasp on the differences that disassociate the game from reality, i am a little irritated.

Hahahahaha, are you for real?!
Firstly, I'm not "attacking" you, I'm either telling you why your idea is not implementable, has already been suggested, or is actually BREAKING THE RULES of the game.
This is a forum for ideas, if you can't take criticism of yours then I suggest you don't post since you obviously take it very personally.

LOL, where did that come from?

The eyes never even reminded me of anime-style eyes. Just cartoony or doll-like, which is how it should be. Maybe it'd be nice to be able to choose which one you want to use, but I just never saw it as that big of a deal.

these eyes dont remind me of anything related to anime
