I can understand that, I always wonder why people who don't eat cow wear leather etc. I eat fish because there is a vast difference between fish and a cow, horse pig or sheep. Kind of similar to why I don't stess out if I accidently step on a insect. Plus eating fish is very good for you. Thats my own personal morals, Obviously a veggie will do one better than me and not eat fish, and a vegan will do one better than them and not eat any animal by products.

Yea I always just wondered too. I like your "doing one better theory". Good explanation.
I do wear leather, maybe I'm a hypocrit but whatever. I wear fake leather too. It's not like I buy tons of leather products all the time. I won't buy fur.

I don't wear fur or leather. My aunt brought a bag of clothes a few months ago and she took out a jacket that was 100% leather. I told her I couldn't wear it, it feels weird. I dunno, maybe that's just stupid? But I just can't

sorry i haven't spoke in a while been busy and all that , but i have a fake leather jacket and every time i wear it everyone is like oh my gosh your wearing leather are you still a vegetarian or not? and i have to say its fake like millions of times when i wear it, but it doesnt bother me if someone does, its their choice, we have a leather sofa in our house and it doesnt bother me one bit

I have my grandmothers old fur coats. I wore one once to a wedding in winter. I mean it's either wear it out or put it a landfill, which isn't good for the environment either. And they are 50 year old coats. I'm not promoting the fur industry by wearing an old fur coat.

Agreed Its not promoting it, it could be fake for all they know. Its not as if you bought it anyway.
I recently found that the Gelatin I eat is suitable for vegetarians which I'm very happy about. : )

What gelatin is that? I always avoid anything that says gelatin, or Kosher gelatin, because that's from fish bones instead of animal bones.

i saw some of that and jelly that was vegetarian which i was quite confused about becuse isnt jelly just like gelatin?

I think it depends on what country your in and what wording they use. In the US geletin is called gelatin or Jell-O (company that makes flavored gelatin) Jelly and jam are different fruit preserves which may or may not have gelatin as an ingredient.

I have vegetarian jelly
I got it at christmas from a local health shop

Name: Kayla
Age: 17
Vegan/ Vegetarian: Vegetarian
Why?: I first stopped eating most meats because I disliked the taste, and then I just stopped altogether. I don't think I'll start again any time soon because I'd feel really bad/ guilty. I guess it's also good for my health...
How long?: About 1 and a half years (or more, depending on how you're counting). I stopped eating meat completely in August 2010.

Aren't they now using artificial/ man-made gelatine in jelly and jelly sweets now?
Offline
^I'm not sure, I just check labels to see if food is suitable for vegetarians. Sometimes it says gelatine or pork gelatine or something in the ingredients but I dunno about the manmade stuff.
Btw girls, its my bday
LMTB - will ya change my age to 17 on the first post?

I stay away from foods with man-made fake stuff. Vegetarian or not those ingredients are chemical concoctions and aren't good for you. Man-made stuff may also contain animal ingredients and it's hard to figure it out because it gets weird chemical sounding names, like I think anything with stearateblahblahblah is ingredients from sharks, but on the surface it sounds like a chemical name and you wouldn't think there was an animal involved. But like I said before a lot of this manmade stuff isn't really food, it's chemicals.
