So you're starting a...

So, you're thinking of starting up your own Boutique, Shops, Gallery, Role-Play or Tutorial.

Well done, you obviously have enough talent and confidence. Hopefully you'll get off to a good start and have an awesome future of designing, writing and helping in the forums.

Now you just have to remember to stick to the rules and guidelines so it can stay open and you don't get into trouble. It can't be that hard, can it? I wrote this thread to help you a little

Step One: Plan and Prepare
Search the forum and see how previous topics like yours have fared, and make sure you're not about to start an identical one.
How many posts will you need in your thread to keep everything clear and concise? Do you really need one post for every section or can you fit two or more into one post?
Try setting everything out in notepad first, before you even start a new thread, go over your coding and iron out any kinks. Make sure your instructions and any text is easy to understand and you've spelled everything right.

Step Two: Check the Rules
Go over the Rules and Guidelines one more time before you click on the "Post new topic" button.
Make sure that you're not using text speak, excessive anything, that your images are suitable. While you're at it, check your signature length. Maye even create your own rules and forms for you thread.

Step Three: Post
This can be a daunting bit.
First of all, remove at least half of the symbols from your title. Too many violate the Forum Guidelines. That means good bye ♥♥♥♥♥Title♥♥♥♥♥ and hello minimalist ♥Title♥. It looks much nicer, more professional and most of all it adhere's to the rules!
Now to post the content. The easiest way is to copy and paste everything you planned out, which is why planning is so essential. There should be absolutely no excuse for having 10 reserved posts, you cannot possibly have to post that much. Use bold and underlined text to show different categories, not lots of different posts.
If you have to reserve posts do so, but everything should be planned out already, and if you're not finished by the time someone posts contact a moderator and they should be able to resolve it.

Step Four: Wait
You want to thank everyone who has already commented and who can blame you. It's great that people are already taking an interest.
But take a step back and wait for the initial rush to be over. This may push your topic back to the second page but don't worry. By being smart and waiting to thank people you can bring your thread back to the top without spamming. Clever, aye?
After a few hours or even a day, go back to your post and reply to some of the comments. Make sure you reply in one post, not several. It's easy to copy and post quotes from different players into one reply.

Step Five: Up-Date
You now have more material for your thread and you want to up-date. But putting just "Up-Date" in a post is a bit spammy, don't you think? Instead, why not explain a bit about your up-date. Explain what you have added, what inspired you.
If you want to up-date but no one has commented since your last post, you're going to have to be a little more savvy. You sorely want to tell everyone that you have up-dated your content, but to double post will be classed as spam. So why not copy/paste the content of your last post, delete it, and post a new one, with the up-date included at the bottom? That way you aren't spamming and still get to post your up-date. DO NOT abuse this, you will be punished.

So, now you know what to do why not open Notepad and start scribbling away, see if you can have a sucessful and well-thought-out thread such as these:
Get Your Edits Critiqued
Prettieex's Banners Galore!
Avrilox26's photography exhibition
Saint Colette's Summer School
