hi!

Online

I've heard that Facebook has a timeline now. What's the point and who wanted a timeline? People asked for a dislike button so Facebook gave them a timeline.
I haven't been on Facebook for months, but I might go on it soon since it's the new year and I'm feeling left out. I do socialise IRL but I feel like I could be closer friends with people if I went on Facebook.
Also, the conservation society club that I paid to join doesn't have it's own website, only Facebook, so I have to keep asking my friends what's going on with the conservation club. I HATE it when companies and other organizations only have a Facebook page.

I do not have fb because I believe it would create problems with my boyfriend .. I never had the account .. I think that people should not make that profile because it disrupts the life ..

I can't believe there are so many people who dislike Facebook. Whenever I go people ask me :do you have FB? Can you give me your contact?.
All this is followed by a shocked face when I ask I haven't...
I decided don't make an account because everyone can look at it, friends tag you in horrible pics or strange links from which you can deduct the life-styke of person you're looking (sorry for bad english, hope you understand what I'd like to explain...).
I don't want to put my face on internet and write all my business, I think everyone needs his privacy. And I'm glad that there are others who think the same.

@Meipingchan: I'm sorry, I just have to ask that: what is a timeline?
Also, my brother and my cousin just have been talking how much they would love a dislike button
@Taki: I agree. It my cause many problems.
@PoD: I was also surprised to see how many people dislike it
welcome!
Yes, I am also looked at with a strange face expression from people who ask me if i have Fb and I answer no.
Yes I totally get what you mean.
There are sometimes moments where I think 'Damn, now I really needed a FB account.' But these moments are only really short and rare. Not having FB kept me away of lots and lots of drama, really.
One moment I regret not having it:
I was in the city, visiting some doctors as a boy shouted at me and asked me if I had FB. He was really cute and was actually my type. But giving him my number would have been too much so.. Duh >.<

I know what you mean. I don't want to post pictures of me on the internet either. You never know who would be looking at your private info. (Name, Birthday, etc.) I don't understand the whole concept. Why go along with the crowd? I like to stand out.

Me, too. I love to stand out, but only in positive ways of course.
I told you some out of my class have no FB, too, right? One guy, he is actually the coolest one I'd say, has no FB, too. I was shocked when he told me. But I was proud of us

Hey
I'm Ellie.
I DISPISE facebook because it half assed ruined my relationship. It does that.. all the time. Its way too easy for people to cheat & talk to other girls/guys despite having a significant other. I think facebook is the DEVIL, lol no joke. Its a place for single people, like a club. I mean, yea, people control their own actions.. but if facebook wasn't around, then people would never even think of making those actions that ruin their relationships, right?
So thats why i hate facebook

Hi (:
I'm Gemi.
I don't like facebook because it's so boring, seriously, most people on facebook are friends you see EVERYDAY, so why not just talk to them IRL. Also, it's overrated, I can't stand it when people talk about how amazing it is, when it's nothing special. And what about those creepy people on facebook who view your profile like a million times in a 30 minute period o.0
Btw, have you guys ever wondered how many people go on myspace now? Lol, I just think it's funny how myspace was in and now people don't even know what it is

Hey you two! Sorry for the late reply >.<
@Ellsz
Really? Sorry to hear that..
I agree, being in a relationship and having girl or guy friends you flirt with in FB is kind of cheating. I would be so jealous..
@Gemi
Yea I agree, it is really boring.
Yes! 4 years ago I spent like 30 minutes on myspace and now I never log in
It's really obvious that FB will end up like this, too as I heard from a few new net communites.

I would like to join. :D My profile has been deactivated for more than four months now and I'm glad I've been avoiding the high school drama that constantly goes on there. Most of the people there as well are all attention seekers and I could nooooot be bothered blocking/deleting them individually. I don't think I'm ever gonna use it again although I do have one that I use where my long distance boyfriend for two years is my only friend. Haahahaha. xD

I used to have a facebook account for about six months or so. After that I closed my account, 'cause I just found it extremely pointless and boring. I still can't see what all the fuss is about. I don't care how many times people go to the bathroom, if they're fighting with their boy/girlfriends or when they're cleaning their bathtub. I say f*ck 'em!!!

Yay another person!

Wow
I haven't been here in a long time. Nothing's changed, I still hate Facebook
What's been going on since I was gone?

Lately I hear a lot of complains about that timeline and a friend told me that there is a lot of porn going on in facebook right now. I just want it to be out of being modern as soon as possible and be replaced with something better.
I was looking at tweeter these weeks and it actually seams a lot better - no stupid games, no "your friend hit you with some strange kind of pillow and no "find out how lucky you are today", if only pictures could be more organized and I'm not sure if you can ban people from fallowing you. Anyway, it's not popular here so there is no point in having one
But it's better for sure.

@Milankaa
Nothing new actually. Still hating it ;D But my brother got a little addicted I guess.
@Sally Joan
Really, porn
?
We(my class) had a lot of trouble with FB in our school. I am really happy I can say that I have nothing to do with it cause I don't have it
Yea, I have a twitter account. It's not popular here either, but I like it. The pictures are really a bit complicated to upload.
No, you can't ban them, but you can kinda set an option that you first have to say 'Yes' or 'No' to a follower before he can really follow you.

Miomuno, that thing about twitter sounds good. I actually just don't get how can someone post so much there, are we supposed to post thing like "I just got into fight with my bf"? Since I know I will use it for posting things I like on the net or "essay" kind of things if everyone I know is about to see it, not tell someone exactly what I did today. I have privacy issues when I'm not directly talking, writing to someone
And there is drama around fb at my uni as well, for what I know most have left the group of our course since they get annoyed by those that are over-dramatizing about things. Besides gossip is going on without any help of the internet so I don't feel left out but even irritated how much people stick their noses everywhere.

Sally Joan, you can post whatever you want! I write what I think or if something important happend I write it, too. To remember it later. I write with a few followers sometimes. The Trending Topics are sometimes really funny and I write around 15 posts on that topic then ;D And I sometimes see what's new. E.g. when Amy Winehouse died I first saw it through twitter as I wasn't at home and had no internet for that time.
I do have twitter for 2 years or so and I have over 2000 tweets I think ;D In the beginning I wrote only a few tweets in a month, but then I somehow got into it and now I like it a lot
I once even wrote with Miley Cyrus (I liked her some years ago, just a little though).
Really? The drama even continues in uni? Ugh, I thought there would be less -.- My brother has a uni group for his course, too, but as far as I know they have no trouble there.
Pinkutza2323, Hello!! Welcome here!

Miomuno, drama goes all the way through life imo, high school was mainly a really positive experience for me but at the end there were a lot of fights for some reason but I was staying out of them, that was actually the time I become really close with people that I wasn't friends with, without losing any old friends.
Here uni is not like you living close to the people you go at uni with so everyone's social contacts are way more than the one you have at uni, in fact there are people that I haven't communicated outside of class. But everyone is really worked up around exams time and we have a lot of group assignments, everyone is late at making something at some point so it's hell and you hear a lot of trash talking behind everyone's back.
In fact I don't know even a single person in rl that has twitter and most haven't even heard of it, lol. I'm lurking at celebrities twitter pages from time to time without having an account. I think it's really great that some communicate with fans this way, internet is changing the industry a lot!
I'm exited for the death of bf muhahah!!!! And really can't wait to see what the next trend will be, it's always fresh and new in the beginning, I just hope it's not worse than fb, My space was way better imo, and also if it's something closer to twitter or Tumblr it will be good.
Welcome, Pinkutza2323!

Oh really? Well, all my 3 brothers are studying, years 1, year 3 and year 4. The two in years 3 & 4 are stressed out a lot, the one in year 3 even has children and a wife. I am really proud of them they can manage it. The one with a family has no FB as far as I know
But the other two use it for communication with their friends and with their uni people.
In my school (I am year 10) there is lots of drama going on in real life and in FB. My friends always tell me what is happening through FB, it was never something about me though. Or they just don't want to tell me. I don't care actually
I just hope my class learnt from all our mistakes and they hopefully won't do this again.
Yea, I also don't know anyone who has twitter near me except 2. But this also can be an advantage. You can write whatever you want about anyone and he or she won't find out. You can let out all your anger or happiness into the world. Some maybe will write something to you, but many will only read it or will totally ignore your post. I for example follow 2000 followers and I don't read all of their posts of course
But I made a list in which are around 30 people and their tweets are interesting to me.
YEA me too!!
I really hope it will come soon! Yes, I also hope it's not something mainstream coming next and I hope it will be safe.
I don't have Tumblr, it's totally anknown in my country, but I heard of it already

Same about Tumblr. I don't know I actually never feel the need to write down about things that bother me, I just over-think things, it just doesn't help me, if there is a problem I try to solve it or forget it, talk with friend at best. I love writing about things that in general are my thoughts but as long as I'm not talking about my own problems or other people I know, it's just strange that's why I've never manage to really have a diary.
And a huge lol for your brother that has a family that young! Knowing how stressed out I'll be I cannot imagine people my age having children, well for a woman is harder but the father always has the "option" to run away and it's good to see responsible men out-there.
I can see how fb makes drama in real life since when typing people don't see face to face and they easily misunderstand each-other but actually it's easy to keep in tuch with people. If there were not all the other annoying things about fb it's good to have it, when it's over and another thing is in at lest in the beginning it will be good
