I would absolutely love it if I could learn some basic Japanese. English is my mother tongue but I do know some Tagalog (Filipino) and although, I doubt helpful here at all, I also know some sign language, but I don't see how I could teach someone the language unless they're willing to read descriptions of how to hold your hands, but the culture is fascinating on how you live day to day life being hard of hearing or deaf, as well as reading lips.

Great thread
Hello everybody! My mother language is Polish and if somebody wants to, I can teach him.
Besides I speak pretty good English and German - but I'd like somebody to teach me some colloquialisms in these two languages; I know some but it's never enough for me!

This language isnt much used around the world, but its always great to know an unique and beautiful language like this one. Interesting fact: Slovak language is in top 3 of hardest languages in Europe, and one of the most difficult languages in the world. Its funny to learn thou, the only thing thats hard is the grammar.

Hi! My native language is English(US) and I am interested in learning some Swedish as I still have family over there, but I have no one left at home who knows it. I know a few basic phrases right now, but what I have been taught is more of the language my grandmother would speak(if pronounced correct, but I am not even sure of that) I can teach English to anyone who needs help also

Hi! I see a lot of people interested in Japanese
Languages I speak & can help with:
English - fluent, near native
French - currently studying at university in France & I've graduated from a bilingual high school, so I'm almost fluent
Russian - my native language
Japanese - I've been studying for 7 years now. I watch dramas and movies without subtitles, read stuff as long as there's furigana for the advanced kanji, and I can take part in a conversation. Kanji is my only weak point really xD
Czech - you could say this is also a native language to me, I doubt anyone will be interested though
What I'm interested in:
- Obviously if there are Japanese native speakers or advanced learners I'd love to talk in Japanese or get help on some more advanced stuff or exchange "kanji strategies & tactics"
- I'm interested in helping others with the above languages. I also have some teaching experience, so if I have enough time and you have enough motivation we can do some real lessons.
- I study linguistics & I'm really curious about how other languages work. Especially if your language is not European & you'd like to talk about your language and culture I'm all ears (or in this case, eyes xD). Be warned though, I may ask weird or confusing questions
