Eid is a special day for Muslims kind of like how Christians celebrate Christmas Muslims celebrate Eid. We have 2 eids, Eid-Al-Fitr and Eid-Al-Adha. So Eid-Al-Fitr in this year is over and Eid-Al-Adha is on Tuesday 16th November for 2010 but it will change next year according to the Muslim calender.

Eid-Al-Adha is where we sacrifice an animal (usually sheep or goat) celebrating the day that prophet Ismael was saved when his father prophet Ibrahim sacrificed an animal instead smile

We Christians have an alike incident. Abraham was tested by God to sacrifice his son Isaac and an angel came from heaven to tell him that he didn't have to. But we don't have any celebration days for it smile

When ibrahem did not sacrifice his son .. he sacrifice an animal instead so we celebrate this day
