This is very nice, what I would suggest first of all is a darker outline for the trousers and the skirtIt gives a lot more "realism"
Shading is pretty good, maybe you could emprove a little bit on the breast, but it's ok
Another thing I'd say, try to cover all the skin - on the legs for example, there are some pieces missingAnd, always talking about trousers, the contours are a bit irregular ^_^
Plus, this is not necessary, but if you want you can add some highlights
Anyway you're doing great, just a bit of practice and you'll be perfect
P.s. What program do you use?
uhm, maybe something like this?
http://img52.imageshack.us/img52/7748/bimbo0.pngI've redrawn it
Tell me whet do you think
http://i1016.photobucket.com/albums/af2 … i/fg-1.pngNow the shading is perfect
I like it ^_^ The only thing I'd suggest now is the outline of the shirt
Why don't you try to change it with a different colour? I'd suggest a dark green, darker than the colour you used for the shadowsLike Dollphane does on his creations ^_^ This one looks a bit strange to me, but probably it's only a my opinion, so don't worry
You're doing a great job anyway
Ok,this is the third version of this outfit

I found an old photo of my grandmother dressed up as one of the girls from The Belles of St Trinians, and I decided to make it for my bimbo
I just want to know how I can improve it at all

Ok, now it's perfect
Just remember, each edit you do, to outline it in darker colour than the colour you used for the shadows ^_^
And, I don't know if you already do it, but I always suggest it: work a lot on levels, each part of the dress/outfit has to be on a separate level, so it's easier for you to make changes ^_^

what do you think of my new edit?

Sabrinitiza - Your edit came out beautifully. My only suggestion is the bimbo's left sleeve...should the end of it hang down a bit more? It makes the otherwise soft-looking fabric seem a little stiff. But otherwise, it's great! I love the mix of color and the detail!

Sure it looks GOOD, but I want to make it GREAT!Your edit does look good. You have patience and you added a lot of details to it.
You just need to add more lights and shadows to make it more realistic.
Here is my graphic explanation:
http://i806.photobucket.com/albums/yy34 … 824868.png
FIRST thing you need to do - you need to determine on which side the lights should be. You added lights on your edit like sun shines from the front. But if you look at the base her light half of the head is darker - that means that light should fall from the left side.
On the right drawing I tried to explain to you where you should place your shadowes and lights. White colour is where the ligther colors should be and red is for the shadows.
Hope I was not too confusing.
As I said you could always be more detailed, I did this rather quickly.
Also I see that you add lights like transparent white lines - you should blur them a little so they blend more with the outfit....
As for the SHOES I tried to improve them. They are my weal point too. ^_^ I changed how edge of the shoes bottoms is visible. It's all the matter of perspective. The closer the part of the shoe is, more of the edge is visible... And also I added visible heal for one shoe... Somehoe it felt right that way to me...
Hope I helped a little
It has helped, thank you! I never really had a point of light, I just knew there were supposed to me shadows and highlights...
This had helped alot, thank you!

What I did wrong?
Great try hon I think what makes it look off is because there is no light and shadows it is just more a shape with a pattern .. you have sharp angles too ..round the edges a bit more.. it will look more like you wanted.

Hey Katie.. I added shadow and light to it the way I would do it.. so you can see it.
As you can see I just added a little darker shadows to your already drawn lines. I also added it to the bottom of the dress and on both edges. I then blurred the shadow and took the smudge brush and used it to create the flow you had going.
Then I added the light layer and smudged it around the shadow, lowered the opacity a bit so it was not so contrast and then went in to the dress layer and smudged the contour lines on the dress so they are not so sharp..
I hope I made sense.. if you have anymore questions just ask
Also I would wait to put the pattern on over the light and shadow so it would show better ^_^

I love your edits, they are beautiful, I love how clean they look and you really have the Dollphane shading down pat, maybe just a little darker on the shading to give it more depth, but other than that, wow!

Love the flow of your dress in this one and the color you chose. What I did was just cleaned it up a bit. It looks like when you blur your shadows, that the blur spills out. I also outlined the dress with a darker turquoise and about size 1 line and added highlights and shading at the bottom, under her breasts and around the curve of the waist.
Hope you don't mind
