Welcome to Clickable Signatures/Banners- An easy to follow tutorial
This tutorial is part of a series of tutorials for signatures/banners in paint.
To see:- Banners in Microsoft Word/Paint click here (recommended if you aren't familiar with banners)
You will need
-Microsoft Word or similar (Photoshop and Paint can also be used but this is simpler)
-Paint or similar
-A place to upload to eg. Photobucket or Miss Bimbo
This tutorial has 3 sections catering for different sections of information
The second post is on designing and creating a signature step by step:
so that coding will join it together
The third post is on simple url coding for those who already know how to make a banner that will join
More detailed steps for beginners eg. Cropping, Uploading and creating signatures are explained in the fourth post.
My pictures are taken from Dragonartz Designs don't forget to look around the net for pictures- and make sure you understand the artists copyright and usage rules

Post 1;
Step 1
Create a banner, like so:
If you don't know how to make one go here
*Make sure that the links will go HORIZONTALLY or this method won't work
Step 2
-Divide your picture.
-Draw lines to separate each link
-Print Screen this by pressing Ctrl and PrtSc on a laptop this may be Fn and PrtSc
-Open up paint.
-Press Ctrl and v (paste)
You should see this inside the window:
[imghttp://i840.photobucket.com/albums/zz327/MargaretRosex3/clickable%20banner/printscreen-2.png[/img]
-Drag the picture over so it looks like this
Step 3
Separate the picture
-Drag the corner of the picture until it looks like this
-Save your image.
-Drag the corner of the picture until you reach your first dividing line.
-Colour the line in to blend with your picture.
-Go to Save as and save it as a different picture name
-Reopen the old picture and repeat with the rest of the sections.

Step 4
Upload your pictures
Upload each file onto the internet using Photobucket or Miss Bimbo or other.
Step 5
Find your links.
My links are for my profile, mods and help.
Go to each location and copy the address in the task bar.
Paste this into a word document and make sure you know which is which.
Step 6
Find the links for your pictures.
On Miss Bimbo they are here
On photobucket and such you are looking for the direct link
Step 7
Work out your urls.
The coding is:
[ url="website address"][ img]picture address[ /img]
(without spaces)
eg: www.missbimbo.com/photo1[ /img][ /url]
Step 8
Insert your urls in order and save.

Tardah!
*Remember if a picture doesn't require a url only type [ img][ /img]
Note:Remember to press enter each time a new line is required otherwise it will look like a mess!
Note x2: Make sure you have time to do this carefullyas you can see, I was a bit rushed and my computer is acting up.

Coding for URL's
The coding is:
[ url="website address"][ img]picture address[ /img]
(without spaces)
eg: www.missbimbo.com/photo1[ /img][ /url]
Explain
A simple url is www.google.com[ /url]. This can look unprofessional in some areas so the space inbetween can be modified with inserting words and/or pictures eg. [ url="www.google.com]Google
Why?
Normally where we have inserted the picture using the tags [ img] [/ img] there is a word like 'here' or 'go'.
This method of replacing the word with a picture is common with the 'go' button etc.

To learn how to make banners go here<<<This also helps with cropping and using paint.
Steps from Paint
5. PressCtrl+v On your keyboard to paste the picture into paint.
6. Press Ctrl+a on your keyboard to select all and drag the picture so that the edge of the banner is at the edge of the document.
7. Go the the bottom right hand corner of the picture (you may have to scroll down and across)
8. Click and drag the little box to the edge of the background of your banner, then if you want you can drag it up to make the banner a smaller size
9. Save the picture as a .PNG file (better quality)
*Taken fromurl="http://www.missbimbo.com/forum/t137025,1-10-step-banners-in-microsoft-word.htm"] Banners from Microsoft Word
*If you are looking just to add words to your signature the coding is
[ url="website address"]Words[ /url]
