I love Helen Bohem Carter and Johnny Depp but I can't stand Tim Burton. I'll watch it when netflix gets it I guess.

I haven't seen it. I'm sure I'll see it soon
I've heard alot of mixed reviews about it. One paper gave it 4 out of 5, another gave it 1 out of 5, but I suppose it's what you expect about it. If your expectations are EXTREMELY high, then you'll be disappointed if it doesn't live up to it.

now i have seen it, and it was amazing!
not like i pictured it would be, but i loved it! Johnny, Helena and Tim never fails

Off with her head!!!
I don't think I'm going to see it while it's in theaters, but I'll probably get the DVD when it comes out. It seems to be based on Through the Looking Glass, right?

Its more based on the Carroll poem the Jabberwocky but uses the characters from Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass.
Don't go into the film expecting it to be based on the books otherwise you'll be disappointed

I liked it, even tho I'm not a Tim Burton fan I have to admit he did a good job.
I especially LOVED the dance Johnny Depp did. I know I've heard people say that part was ridiculous and unnecessary but it was one of my favorite parts.

Haven't seen it yet! Soo excited. although my usual cinema (comfy comfy
) isn't showing it D: something about the weeks its meant to be showing doesn't fit in with them. I'm quite annoyed. But theres other cinemas so I'll be hitting them soon.

Saw it last night. I wasn't too impressed story wise, but it looked wonderful and was fun. HBC stole the show as the Red Queen I think!

Tim Burton is overrated. And I'll never be able to see Anna Hathaway as serious actress after all those Disney movies and silly romantic comedies she's been in.
Which doesn't mean it can't be a good movie, but I haven't seen it yet and, to be honest, I don't have high hopes.

I agree with you about the Anne Hathaway thing, she can act seriously, but she doesn't have a very serious caracter so it works out well

I think Anne Hathaway is a great actress, but does have the odd iffy movie under her belt. Her character in this was well over the top in Alice, which a lot of people didn't seem to like. I thought it was OK though - it was almost like the movie was making fun of the standard 'good queen/princess' every now and then!

I've already seen it twice. I love it. Alice has amazing dresses, i cant help but have a soft spot for helena as the red queen. she just loves her jabba-baby-wakee, and johnny and his love of hats, the adorable Ches, and the march hare. i love it all.
and even the kids in the theater loved it. if you're going to see it, you'll love it. and if you haven't yet, you have go to see it atleast once.

if you're refering to the original movie or book, it's not supposed to be since it's a continuation, 13 years later. if there is a second book about alice returning to wonderland, i haven't read it so I wouldn't know if it was like it.

Seeing as the cartoon version is a compilation of both Alice in Wonderland and Through the looking glass, I don't see why everyone is trying to pin this movie down to just one book.
The New movie is a mixture of Alice in Wonderland, Through the looking glass and the poem, The Jabberwock.

I saw it and loved it, I am a mazzive fan of Tim Burton's films and wasnt disappointed by this one. Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter is perfect, as is HBC as the red queen, personally I thought Anne Hathaway as the White Queen was a disappointment. Though this could be due to the lack of lines or directions given to her instead of being a fault of her own.
I think people should realise when they go to see it, it isnt Alice in Wonderland, its more of a sequel and I am slightly surprised that this wasnt considered when the film was named as it would have cleared up some of the confusion. I personally think it would have been better recieved if it was clearer that it was a sequel as it is strong enough to have drawn in audiences if it had been titled 'return to wonderland' or something along those lines.
I am definately going to try and see it again in the cinema, my favourite scene has to be the tea party.
