The best place to get it would be the GIMP website http://www.gimp.org/ I don't know if you've tried it
If you try to download anything it is quite possible that you may get a virus from it.
I hoped this helped

Was just wondering, if anyone could give me any tips on how to create a pair of trousers, whether they be Jeans or regular trousers.
I would really appreciate it!

Try to blur the shadowing a bit on the leg
and the arms look a bit...how do i say..mechanical... try smoothing them down like an arch.

Yup!
I agree.
I also have a few extra tips
I think you should add more shading, like to the other leg and body, blur it or smudge it too.
Also the shading should just be a little teeny weeny bit darker.
Like the same color as the shading on the face.

And, I would add, smaller boobs
And maybe a darker colour for the outline of the pose
But it's very nice ^_^ Congrats

First off, which program do you use? I used Adobe Fireworks CS3.
This is how I did it:
- Firstly, using the pen tool I created my desired shape.
- Then I chose my colour (I usually do everything in different shades of black, makes changing the colour easy.) I then created a new layer and started colouring. I then draged this behind the over layers which the pen tool created. Rub out any colour outside of the lines.
- After that it's pretty much the same as step two only this time it's for the shadows/shading. I chose a darker colour than the main body colour and in a new layer I lay down my shadows. After this I then drag behind the pen tool layers but BEFORE the main colour layer. I then choose 'Gaussian Blur.' Rub out any colour outside of the lines.
- Repeating step three only this time it is for Highlights - so do the opposite for the colour ---> a colour lighter than the original colour and place this behind the shadow layer.
- Create a new layer, I then drew in detail using the brush - pockets and the zip covering thingy
Then using the circle shape I made a button.
- Then after this I created a new layer (as always
) and then going to my brush shapes I selected in 'Air Brush' - 'Texture' and coloured all over the trousers. I then rubbed out the excess colour around the outline and dragged this infront of the main body of colour.
- Using your own initiative rub out anything that you feel doesn't belong.
Hope this has helped!

I use GIMP, but it seems to have a lot of similar tools to Fireworks, cos i used to use Fireworks in my ICT A-level.
Thank you for helping me!! I will try it out ASAP! Will come back once i have tried it and show you my bad handiwork!!

I stink at those type of things, but you can ask MackiesMommy2007... I know she's really good at them

Hi guys
Wanted to ask you some advice on my first pose. I know where I did tweaking and stuff is quite obvious, I'm working hard to fix it.

the outline of the body should be the same as the face... you dont have to blur it so much, makes it hard to see where to draw

Can anyone help me with Satin/Silk? Just blending, colours etc.
Thanks

Also, don't have the big black shadow, as Blsk says it can be hard to see where to draw

I can try and help with this one hon..
I do layers.. the base layer with min. shading a dark shading layer and then a light layer.
The base layer has minimal shading just so I see the lines (Creases) I want to make darker. then I blur it a bit so it is not so sharp of lines.
Second layer, I select the base layer so when I am drawing and smudging it is not so messy. I have a larger brush (size 8-9) and the sharpness on the brush is about 25.. I then go along the bottom edge of dress and the outside edges, I then make the brush smaller (2-3) and make the lines I want my folds to be in the skirts.. THen I use gaussian blur.. (1-2) and then use my smudge brush to drag the lines up and down so you get the depth of color.. so it is not all the dark.
I then do almost the same thing on the light layer.. but not along the edges or bottom and use I (1-2) size brush and where the top of the fold on gown would be is the light color, gaussian blur then smudge. I then set the layer property to screen and move it behind the dark layer.
The dark layer I will change properties too Multiply and lower the opacity till it looks like silk or satin.. you just play with the opacity and smudge tool till it looks just right..
Big key is to make the light layer color a bright light color not a dull light color..( I added examples )
Hope this helps hon
