She means that the people who deserve it because of their contributions to the site are always up there. As opposed to the cheaters who - thanks to the list being visible - are caught and stopped.

You could simply just make it for the mods alone to see it then

No need to be short with me - I simply stated my opinion. When I was on the list part of the fun was having all of my friends behind me and the race to see who came where. Removing the list would take away all of that.

Anyways, it doesn't matter - I doubt unless something drastic happens that it will ever change.

but how to protect from unfair advantage and abuse of power of moderator's privileges? Moderators on the top list should not be alowed to ban any member who is also in top list.  It is not fair when somebody can push theirself up through the top list simply by banning other players who are already winning.

I totally agree.At least you know you are in the list,but nobody else knows,so that you will win fair (of course the people in the list will know this,but does it make sense if they will vote for you? And moderators don't help you win unfair )
